(1) DRIVING IN TOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE OPERATING NORMALLY. (2) COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING. ABLE TO STOP VEHICLE BEFORE A COLLISION OCCURRED. THE STEERING CENTER LINK DISCONNECTED FROM THE PITMAN ARM. IT HAD PULLED OUT OF THE JOINT. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF CORROSION OR DAMAGE. THE SOCKET WAS WELL LUBRICATED. THE BALL AND SOCKET ARE A SEALED UNIT. (3) THE CENTER LINK WAS REPLACED WITH NEW PARTS. THE OLD PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.*AK
