TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-550 EQUIPPED WITH AN 1994 WINNEBAGO ITASCA SUN CRUISER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, HOWEVER, TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR WHILE THE BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE RV WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED AND NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE LEAKING AND HAD EXTREME CORROSION. THE RV REPAIR WAS PENDING. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. SEPTEMBER 2007 - FORD MOTOR COMPANY SENT A LETTER STATING THAT THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH WAS POSING A RISK OF AND UNDERHOOD FIRE. THIS CONDITION MAY OCCUR EITHER WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR WHEN IT IS BEING OPERATED, EVEN IF THE SPEED CONTROL IS NOT IN USE. THIS WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER IN OCTOBER 2007, AT THE TIME WE WERE TOLD THAT THE FUSED WIRING HARNESS WAS NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A SMELL OF SOMETHING OVERHEATING IN A RECLINING COUCH WITHIN THE COACH. THE VEHICLE HAD A SWITCH USED TO DISCONNECT THE POWER TO THE LIVING AREA OF THE MOTOR HOME. THE SWITCH WAS TRIPPED, AND THE CONTACT REACHED IN TO THE MOTOR AREA OF THE SEAT. THE MOTOR WAS EXCEEDINGLY HOT, SO THE CONTACT ALLOWED IT TO COOL. 2 MONTHS LATER, THE MOTOR WAS REMOVED AND EXAMINED TO FIND MELTED WIRING AND MELTED BRUSHES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 ITASCA SUNCRUISER RV. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. HE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE RESTARTED IT, HE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HIGHER THAN USUAL AND HE HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT ALL FOUR CALIBERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES BEFOREHAND. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 15,944.
