Owner report 11481385 · 2022-08-26 (August 26, 2022)

Wife was driving on the highway at highway speeds (using gas propulsion, not electric) and car shut off without warning, lost all propulsion, alerting me to "Shift to park" to start the car. No prior warnings of anything being wrong with the car. Had to pull over on the highway to stop. Took several minutes to be able to shift to park, turn the car off, and restart the car. After incident, the check engine light came on. Took the nearest dealership who advised the check engine light was off and there was nothing they could do to repair it - tol…

Owner report 11481489 · 2022-08-27 (August 27, 2022)

While driving approximately 35mph and without any warning, the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in the middle of the road. If another vehicle had been following behind there could have been a collision. The forward collision alert might have gone off; afterwards most of the warning lights were on. We were able to slowly power through the brakes to a nearby parking lot. We could not turn off the car or put the transmission in Park or Neutral, it was completely immobilized. All of the transmission lights were on and could…

Owner report 11494519 · 2022-11-22 (November 22, 2022)

We were driving our Chrysler Pacifica hybrid on the highway and it stalled and said put into park and completely turned off. When we pulled over to the side of the road, the car would not start and had to be towed to the dealership. It was very unsafe and not the first time that our car has turned off.

Owner report 11498346 · 2022-12-21 (December 21, 2022)

I was driving on a 40 mph road when the minivan flashed a message on the dashboard that the engine was off and I needed to put the car in Park to restart it- essentially the car stalled while I was driving 40 mph. Luckily it was 10 pm with few cars around and I was able to merge across 4 lanes and turn on a side street as the car rolled to a stop against a curb. I tried for 5 minutes to do as the car message was indicating- put the car in Park, turn the engine on, but the car would not return to normal function, Drive would not engage, the car …

Owner report 11479090 · 2022-08-12 (August 12, 2022)

While driving on the freeway using adaptive cruise control, the display indicated that the adaptive cruise control was canceled. I did not cancel the adaptive cruise control. The vehicle decelerated and appeared to turn off completely. The gas peddle did not respond, I was unable to accelerate. The screen then displayed “push button to start”, as though the car was off. I was able to pull onto the shoulder of the freeway, toggle the car into park, and press the start button while pressing the break. Then, the screen display battery light and ch…

Owner report 11491241 · 2022-10-27 (October 27, 2022)

Twice while driving on the highway the accelerator stopped working and the dash acted as if the car was off - it instructed to hold the brake and press the start button to turn it on. After coasting over to the side of the road I was able to put it in park, but pressing the power button did not turn it off. The check engine light and battery light were both on (they turned on as soon as the car "shut off") We had to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it to reset the system and then it started normally - we googled the problem to find t…

Owner report 11502913 · 2023-01-21 (January 21, 2023)

Vehicle lost ability to accelerate on highway engine shit off, lost power steering, dashboard read “press break and push button to start” as though vehicle were turned off. Dashboard displayed default message “service hybrid electric vehicle system”. Happened 3 times in span of 3 days. 2 of which were on the highway, the 3rd was on exit ramp of highway. The inability to accelerate/loss of power steering while driving is a huge safety concern. We called dealership, service manager immediately acknowledged safety concern and picked up vehicle at …
