MY WIFE AND I WERE RIDING TO DEADWOOD, SD. SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE SD STATE LINE AND SIOUX FALLS HER RIGHT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD FELL OFF HER BIKE. AT THIS TIME, HER BIKE HAD APPROX 5,000 MILES. EVER SINCE PURCHASING HER BIKE, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE PINS THAT HOLD THE FLOORBOARDS IN PLACE HAVE BEEN VIBRATING FORWARD. EVERY COUPLE OF HUNDRED MILES OR SO, WE WOULD ADJUST THESE PINS BACK IN PLACE. I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, AND THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VICTORY CROSS COUNTRY MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, THE REAR TIRE SEIZED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE BIKE UP. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE BIKE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THAT THE REAR TIRE HAD SEIZED BUT DID NOT PROVIDE A REASON AS TO WHY THE FAILURE OCCURRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VICTORY CROSS COUNTRY MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH AND DOWNSHIFTING, THE MOTORCYCLE STALLED CAUSING THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER TO FALL OFF THE MOTORCYCLE. IN ADDITION, BOTH THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWELVE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. I WAS MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY LEANED INTO THE CURVE RUNNING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE POPPED AND DIED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT LOCKED UP THE REAR TIRE CAUSING THE BACK END OF THE MOTORCYCLE TO SKID AROUND AND WHEN IT CAUGHT TRACTION IT FLIPPED THE BIKE IN THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE WAY I WAS LEANING LAUNCHING ME INTO THE ROAD. I WAS APPLYING THROTTLE GENTLY WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND THE RPM'S WERE AROUND 3000 AT THE TIME. AND I WAS NOT SHIFTING GEARS AT THE TIME. Polaris is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Victory motorcycles manufactured from January 3, 2012, through August 15, 2012. A torqueing procedure may have been missed on some throttle cable retention nuts. On certain motorcycles, the throttle cable retention nuts for either the pull or push throttle cable may have not been torqued correctly.
Consequence: If the torqueing is missed and the retention nuts are loose, the retention nuts closest to the throttle body can become dislodged and interfere with the throttle function, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Victory will notify owners and dealers will correctly torque the fasteners free of charge. The safety recall began on October 4, 2012. Owners may contact Victory consumer service department by calling 1-888-704-5290.

Reported: 2015-01-07 (January 7, 2015)
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Victory Cross Country, Cross Roads, Hammer Eight Ball, High Ball, Jackpot, Vegas Eight Ball, 2014 Victory Cross Country Eight Ball, Cross Roads Eight Ball, Ness Cross Country, 2015 Victory Gunner, and 2013 Victory Hardball motorcycles. The fuel pump in the affected motorcycles may have been incorrectly crimped during manufacturing, which may result in the fuel pump seizing.
Consequence: If the fuel pump seizes, the motorcycle will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Victory will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began on January 14, 2015. Owners may contact Victory consumer service at 1-877-737-7172. Polaris' number for this recall is V-15-01 A/B.

Reported: 2017-10-12 (October 12, 2017)
Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain 2010-2017 Victory Cross Country, Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads, Magnum, and Hard Ball motorcycles. If the engine misfires, continued riding may result in heat from the catalytic converter melting the rear brake line and nearby wiring.
Consequence: A melted rear brake line can reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will re-route the brake line away from the exhaust catalyst, free of charge. The recall began on November 8, 2017. Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-877-737-7172. Polaris' number for this recall is V-17-02.
