Owner report 11551122 · 2023-10-20 (October 20, 2023)

When radar cruise control is on, the car sometimes brakes hard totally unexpectedly when it’s about to overtake to a slower-moving vehicle in the adjacent right lane, and despite the fact that the CX-90 does not have any vehicle directly in front of it in its lane. This happens quite regularly at highway, when I am guetting within 100-200 ft of a semi located on the adjacent right lane, even when the road is at right. I almost got rear ended at 75mph by another vehicle because of that, as they did not expect my car to brake while overtaking a s…

while passing a truck that is in the right hand lane, adaptive cruise control will pick up a vehicle straight ahead and hit the brakes hard. Issue - there is no vehicle in front of you. Almost got rear ended due to this issue.

Driving to work the dash lit up with warming signs stating electrical leak detected, Malfunction to hybrid system stop car immediately and contact dealership. Once stopped the car locked up. Owner report 11573765 · 2024-02-24 (February 24, 2024)

On [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] near Pasadena at normal speed of traffic when suddenly an error message “Hybrid System Malfunction” appeared on the dash board along with check engine light, and the car began to stall slowing down to nearly full stop almost immediately. When I pressed gas pedal, it would not accelerate. Because I was in the far right lane, I had just about enough time to pull over onto the shoulder before the car stopped completely. The car was in EV mode (using all electric power) when this incident occurred with 20 miles …

Owner report 11583951 · 2024-04-18 (April 18, 2024)

Driving up snowy pass on I-90 approaching the top of Snoqualmie Pass. Vehicle stalled and warning lights flashed critical warning and loss of power. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway and would not start or go into drive. After a few minutes, because of speeding and adverse conditions, another driver collided with my vehicle from behind. Another following vehicle lost control and ran off the road. Nobody was injured. Mazda has not provided any information to what happened with the vehicle. We added about 12k miles in the 5 …

Owner report 11577948 · 2024-03-18 (March 18, 2024)

At 3200 miles the vehicle had a major powertrain malfunction causing the vehicle to throw multiple error codes - Hybrid System Malfunction; Charging System Malfunction; Electrical Leakage Detected. Was instructed to pull over to a safe area immediately. Was unclear how long car would continue to be drivable. Once car stopped it became completely immobile. Repeated restart attempts would not let vehicle start ICE engine or shift into gear. Had to be towed via dollies to nearest dealer for diagnosis and repair. Dealer found a failed PTC heater …

July 11, 2024 – Odometer – 7,604, Gas – Full, Electric – 19 Miles range - From work to Home, Receive the following errors “Engine Malfunction, Have Vehicle Inspected” and “Hybrid System Malfunction, Have Vehicle Inspected” warning lights come on. Cars behavior – Air conditioning motor running but not cooling air, Loss of power and car very sluggish (have to be careful at intersections), seems to maintain speed even when taking foot of gas and requires extra breaking, seems to be clunky when transmission upshifts/downshifts at times.
