Owner report 11432771 · 2021-09-13 (September 13, 2021)
The contact's friend owns a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the emergency automatic braking inadvertently engaged. The emergency braking system warning light was illuminated. The driver had to manually release the parking brake. Additionally, while driving a stone struck the front windshield causing a crack. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was working as designed. The contact was also informed that the windshield was on backorder. The vehicle was not re…

Owner report 11434221 · 2021-09-24 (September 24, 2021)
The first time I was stopped at a red light and my vehicle shut off completely and was unresponsive, nothing worker. To get the vehicle to respond I had to get out of my vehicle at the light shut my door and use the remote to lock and unlock the vehicle at that time it finally responded. This happened again when I first started my vehicle and before I could put the vehicle in gear it shut off. I did the same thing as before and vehicle was responsive. The last time it happened I was driving the vehicle shut off I was almost hit from behind the …

Owner report 11420384 · 2021-06-10 (June 10, 2021)
Main issue: power steering failed twice within a couple hours. Vehicle is available for inspection. Not being able to steer the vehicle increases the risk of a crash. Yes, the issue was reproduced by the service manager at a nearby Hyundai dealership. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance rep. There were warning messages that appeared when the steering went out.

Owner report 11432780 · 2021-09-13 (September 13, 2021)
Had my car in shop for over 30 days on my last visit, was there 4 other times. When you reach speeds of 62 mph to 73 mph car has vibration in seat and steering wheel along with feeling it. They rotated tires, replaced drive shaft, replaced rear differential and fluids. Was told to come get car there is nothing they can do about it. Called Hyundai filed a complaint and someone higher up was going to call me back within 10 days. Its now 12 days and no call. I called today and asked for the person to talk to and got a new phone number. Been tryin…

Owner report 11508929 · 2023-02-24 (February 24, 2023)
My local dealer pulled the 40 amp fuse the vehicle's trailer wiring harness because of NHSTA issue: OMB Control No.: 2127-0004 / Part 573 Safety Recall Report 22V-633. The fuse was pulled in August 2022 (6 months ago), I received a mailed notification from Hyundai, and then they marked the recall as being complete in their website. To date, I have not received any information from Hyundai about the replacement part and we have not been able to use the vehicle for towing in 6 months. I called Hyundai customer support today, and they still do…

Owner report 11534089 · 2023-07-24 (July 24, 2023)
Hyndai recalled our vehicle for a tow hitch wiring problem last year. Instead of resolving the issue, they simply pulled the fuse and told us that we cannot tow with lights until they resolve the recall. My understanding is that this recall has been on the books for over a year now. This is extremely frustrating as I am not able to use the tow capability that I paid for when purchasing this vehicle and according to the dealer, no fix has been provided. How do I complain? How do I get something done here? Thank you.

Owner report 11374318 · 2020-11-12 (November 12, 2020)
THE DESIGN OF THE SHIFTING MECHANISM IS BACKWARDS SO THAT DRIVERS MEANING TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE (AND GO FORWARD) WILL EASILY CONFUSE THE BUTTONS AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE (SENDING THE VEHICLE BACKWARDS). THINKING ABOUT A SHIFT KNOB ON A STANDARD VEHICLE, ONE THINKS OF THE KNOB IN "REVERSE" AS BEING BACK TOWARDS THE REAR WINDSHIELD. SAME WITH A MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIR: TO GO FORWARD YOU SELECT THE POSITION IN THE FRONT, AND TO GO BACK, YOU SELECT THE POSITION IN THE BACK. THE CONFUSION HAPPENED TO ME OFTEN ENOUGH THAT I ALWAYS…

Owner report 11506138 · 2023-02-07 (February 7, 2023)
Sudden powertrain failure. Car started to decelerate on its own. The car started to vibrate when accelerator was pressed. Car was in high speed and could have stalled and the passengers could have been killed. Hyundai has refused to honor the powertrain warranty and has attributed the entire transmission failure to bad gas which is very very unlikely. Have contacted Hyundai USA and got no substantial help. Hudson Hyundai is the dealer and is notorious in their treatment of customers. The company needs to issue a recall of 2021 pallisades before…

Owner report 11472492 · 2022-07-06 (July 6, 2022)
I was driving on a highway going approximately 80 mph when the car stopped accelerating. It was as if someone switched the car to neutral. The engine completely shut off and I had to scramble to safely pull over to the side of the highway. I had to turn the car off, wait, and turn it back on. I got back onto the highway and rushed towards a dealership. The engine shut down two more times. Each time requiring me to pull over to the side of an incredibly dangerous highway to restart the car. The dealership stated it was an issue with the Fuel Inj…

Owner report 11613395 · 2024-09-09 (September 9, 2024)
In June of 2024, my Hyundai Palisade started shuddering every time I shifted from 20mph to 30mph. Twice the car shuddered and stopped at intersections and had to be shut off and restarted. I then received an engine light on my dashboard. I dropped off at Safford Hyundai in June and after evaluation by mechanic was told several components should be changed. 1)Replace three ignition coils 2)Replace three injector gaskets 3)Replace all 6 spark plugs 4)Perform Fuel Injector cleaning service. Total cost was $2,875.95. I was told the repair would…
