2100 MILES AND THE DIGITAL AND ANALOG SPEED ODOMETER BOTH STOPPED WORKING. THE GAS GAUGE ALSO ACTED ERRATIC. IT WASN'T SHOWING THE GAS AS FULL BUT THE TANK HAD JUST BEEN COMPLETELY FILLED (PICTURE HAS EXAMPLE OF BOTH). DEALERSHIP UNPLUGGED THE BATTERY AND RESET THE VEHICLE TO FACTORY SETTINGS AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. I WORK FOR A CAR ELECTRICAL COMPONENT MANUFACTURING SUPPLIER AND IT IS BELIEVED THIS IS CAUSED BY SOFTWARE WITHIN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BECAUSE THE SPEED ODOMETER AND THE FUEL GAS AREN'T CONNECTED WITHIN THE VEHICLE. *TR

The alternator suddenly failed. This caused the batter to rapidly deplete and lose all electrical function of the vehicle. Loss of power steering, breaks, lights, instrument cluster and gauges. basically the vehicle rolled to a stop. Further investigation has shown that this issue is not uncommon on the Palisade. A quick google search revealed dozens of people with the same issue. Since it’s on several year models of the Palisade it points to the alternator. It goes out and the battery cannot support the electronics.

Recall 235 was performed incorrectly by a dealership in Tacoma, WA. My Palisade 2020 has an OEM trailer hitch and wiring harness. The dealership completed the inspection in spite of the fact that the instructions say not to when there is an OEM hitch and wiring harness. The Tacoma dealership pulled the trailer fuses and my local dealership in Kirkland WA refused to do the harness replacement. They said Hyundai would refuse to pay for it. I am also trying to get the dealership I purchased the car from three months ago to do the insta…

n November 2022 my Hyundai Palisade was recalled because of the tow hitch being a fire hazard. I took my car in thinking that it was fixed. I didn't tow anything until March 2023 and when I went to hook up the u-haul I had rented it was not working. There was no power coming from tow hitch to make the break lights work on the u-haul. The company tested it to make sure it was my car and not the trailer and it was definitely my car not putting out any power. I took my car back into the dealership, and they let me know it was fixed again. In May 2…

The alternator failed at 65k miles. Lost headlights, steering, all ability to drive on the interstate with children in the car. Thankfully my husband was able to safely get us off of the road and out of traffic without incident. Driving at 70mph when the battery light flashed once, then all dash lights started flashing then car lost power. No warning other than what happened in just a few seconds. Alternator failed and deemed bad by parts stores.
