TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHTCUTG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DEALERS FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BLOCK AND THE ELECTRICAL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. FIRST INCIDENT 2015, LOG IN EST 100 MILES, MC STARTED SMOKING. DEALERSHIP CHECKED OUT NO PROBLEMS. SECOND INCIDENT ENGINE LOST POWER DOWN TO 35MPH COULD NOT GO HIGHER, DEALERSHIP FIXED PUT NEW CLUTCH NO CHARGE. THE THIRD TIME, IT REPEATED LOST POWER AGAIN SMOKE & BURNING INSIDE ENGINE AREA THE CLUTCH WAS OUT HAD TO BE TOWED. THIS THIRD TIME THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX, I HAD ONLY 2100 MILES LOG AND CHARGED ME $500. THE GENERAL MANAGER TOOK ME ON A ROAD TEST TO CHECK MY SHIFTING. ON 06/03/2017 AT 7235 MILES THE CLUTCH FAILED TO DISENGAGE WHEN THE LEVER WAS PULLED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE FAILURE WAS FOUND WHEN SHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR. THE TRIKE WAS TOWED TO THE SELLING HARLEY-DAVIDSON DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE REPAIR MADE WAS: "FLUSHED THE CLUTCH DUE TO AIR IN THE LINE." All #'s/times are approx. At 2:15p, sun to back, and 30-35mph going into a curve, bike went off road. No brake lights, New tire, 406 miles on it, 6.6 miles fr: dealership, 3rd time there for random electrical issues, radio, starting, etc. Less than 1 mile tested in parking lot. Battery replaced. Drove thousands of miles since the 1970s. Trike maintained on schedule by dealer. The contact owned a 2019 Harley- Davidson FLHTCUTG. The contact stated that while riding approximately 75 mph, the motorcycle made a sudden and radical turn to the left. The contact was able to regain control of the steering but approximately thirty minutes later the motorcycle made a sudden and radical turn to the right causing the contact to lose control of the motorcycle and crash.
