Owner report 10700897 · 2015-03-22 (March 22, 2015)
LIPPERT COMPONENTS (LCI) OF ELKHART IN, ARE THE MANUFACTURES OF THE AXLE AND BRAKE EQUIPMENT USED ON THE GRAND DESIGN BRAND OF TRAILERS. I HAVE A 2014 SOLITUDE 369RL 5TH WHEEL. I HAVE ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THE UNIT AND DURING MY LAST TRIP OUT I LOST SOME BRAKING CAPABILITY. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW 2 OF THE 4 BRAKES HAD GREASE LEAKING FROM THE REAR GREASE SEAL INTO THE BRAKE DRUMS. I HAVE NEVER GREASED THESE WITH THIS LITTLE MILEAGE. I POSTED ON FACEBOOK TODAY AND HAD ABOUT 10 PEOPLE WHO OWN GRAND DESIGN TRAILERS WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS. TH…

Owner report 11639589 · 2025-01-30 (January 30, 2025)
While we are driving, the front and back door of our rv open while in transit. This happens even when the RV doors are both locked and deadbolted. They both open up and we have had to add a bar to keep the door from opening all the way on the rear, which places us and others in danger while driving. We have pulled over and the door whipped open and hit a road sign, it could as easily hit construction worker. I have reported it to Grand Design, and at that time, it was not repaired. I was at the headquarters at the time. I had already purchased …

Owner report 11664587 · 2025-06-03 (June 3, 2025)
Our frame on our 2022 Grand Design Solitude S Class 3740BH has failed. While towing this RV 5th wheel trailer, we have observed signs of frame flex/failure and now it has been verified by RV tech Justin Douglas of TBD RV Repair out of Denver, IA [phone removed]. Items to note: Our hitch inbox appears to rise and fall several inches during transport. The front cargo doors and side entrance door have opened during transport after being secured. Several pieces of moulding have “pulled” out from shifting along the front trim of the trailer. …

Owner report 11467694 · 2022-06-06 (June 6, 2022)
On Monday May 30th, 2022my husband Mike was sitting in the recliner and heard a couple of “pops” and then he heard another louder “pop.” He got up and walked over to the glass sliding door and saw our 2020 Grand Design Solitude 310G camper was on fire. He turned to me and hollered for me to call 911 and that the camper was on fire. He immediately ran outside and ran into the garage/workshop and took the garden hose that was attached to the hydrant and began spraying the garage/workshop roof from the south as the flames were not only engulfi…

Owner report 11425821 · 2021-07-21 (July 21, 2021)
Electrical system spontaneously caught fire. Had this happened while on the road or with people inside the trailer, it would have lead to serious injury or death. The issue has been confirmed by the manufacturer and they are refusing to take action or honor the warrantee. The RV has been inspected by the manufacturer and is the in process of being inspected by insurance. There was no warning or symptoms prior to smoke pouring from various compartments of the RV.
