Owner report 11539637 · 2023-08-20 (August 20, 2023)
This vehicle has a known fire safety hazard since 2022 as established in public information and documented at NHTSA as of March 31 2023, Overloaded electrical circuits that damage components increase the risk of a fire; NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V234000. We have made numerous attempts to contact the manufacturer regarding this matter but have been ignored. Winnebago has no remedial action plan for this as of this writing and do not seemed to be concerned despite the known fire hazard therein. We are hesitant to use/sleep in this vehicle withou…

Owner report 11467492 · 2022-06-04 (June 4, 2022)
Driving on interstate with cruise control suddenly for no reason the vehicle self brakes hard. Luckily no other vehicles close by. Able to get vehicle to shoulder (lucky shoulder and driving in right lane). We have collision assist and ABS with cruise adaptive. It’s obvious that it malfunctioned and we are very lucky. Called WInnebago and they said this is Ford Chassis- called Ford and they said they would get back to me! We were afraid to travel On but did and it hasn’t malfunctioned again. We also read that we could turn the system off, which…

Owner report 11614645 · 2024-09-14 (September 14, 2024)
Winnebago recall 174 (NHTSA campaign 23V234000) regarding improper electrical wiring design and installation by Winnebago was recently completed on my RV. After completion of this recall I experienced another electrical fire in the engine compartment (my alternator had previously caught fire due to wiring and design defects noted in Winnebago recall 174). After extinguishing the fire I observed the Winnebago recall 174 remedy had been completed in such a way that an engine compartment wiring harness was under tension and in contact with the t…

Owner report 11675984 · 2025-07-24 (July 24, 2025)
On [XXX] while driving my 2025 Winnebago Ekko 23B at elevations between 5,000 and 6,000 feet, the vehicle repeatedly lost engine power and stalled under specific conditions, creating a significant safety hazard. The issue occurred when the house batteries were below 100% charge, the engine was at idle or low RPM (below 1,250), and the secondary alternator began charging the Lithionics battery system, causing RPMs to drop below 500, complete loss of propulsion (unable to move forward or reverse), and occasional activation of the check engine lig…
