Driving on interstate with cruise control suddenly for no reason the vehicle self brakes hard. Luckily no other vehicles close by. Able to get vehicle to shoulder (lucky shoulder and driving in right lane). We have collision assist and ABS with cruise adaptive. It’s obvious that it malfunctioned and we are very lucky. Wiring harness and a fuse on the harness for the auxiliary Balmar alternator installed by Winnebago partially melted due to proximity to turbocharger. Very concerning due to other owners reporting Balmar alternator fires and alternator regulator failures.

The Balmar charge controller for the coach lithium batteries failed. The controller is rated for temperatures up to 90 C (194 F). Based on Ekko forum discussions I suspected the controller, which is located in close proximity to the passenger side turbocharger was overheating. I fashioned an improvised heat shield between the turbocharger and controller and after driving in 74 F ambient conditions measured temperatures of 285 F on the heat shield and 185 F at the controller surface. Both sides of my BSM have quit working. Second time this has happened

Blind Spot Monitor stopped working after driving in the rain. The warranty dealer said that the rear sensors 'went out' because of the moisture. Currently still waiting for repairs. Driving an RV without a BSM is more difficult. We had to install a full time, rear view camera, to supplement the non working BSM. There were no other warnings before the system went out. Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Solis, Travato, and Ekko vehicles, equipped with GE-ES Double Flipseats. The seat belt retractors may lock up when the vehicle is on a slight incline. As such, these seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Consequence: If the seat belt retractor locks, a passenger may believe they are trapped in the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Winnebago will work with Freedman to notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat and repair, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 23, 2021. Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2022 Ekko vehicles. The shower and sink drainage system may leak and allow water to infiltrate nearby electrical components, which could cause an electrical short.

Consequence: An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the shower and sink drainage pump system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 165.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ekko vehicles. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked, causing a gas leak.

Consequence: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the quick disconnect fittings, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 22, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Reported: 2023-02-03 (February 3, 2023)

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Solis, 2021-2023 Travato, and 2022-2023 Ekko motorhomes, equipped with certain Suburban Manufacturing Company (Suburban) SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops with part number 3032AST. The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture and cause a gas leak.

Consequence: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Winnebago will work with Suburban to repair the cooktop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 31, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ekko motorhomes. The 12-Volt charging system may have improperly routed wires and loose electrical connections, which can overload the electrical circuits and cause damage to electrical components, including the auxiliary alternator.

Consequence: Overloaded electrical circuits that damage components increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and correct the wire routing and electrical connections, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 30, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 174.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Travato, 2021-2023 Solis, and 2022-2023 Ekko motorhomes, equipped with certain Cummins Onan QG 2800i, and Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the fuel filter and Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be properly secured, which can cause a gas leak.

Consequence: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 2, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2022 Ekko, 2020-2022 Minnie Winnie, Spirit, 2020-2022 View, Navion, and 2020-2021 Vita, and Porto motorhomes. An incorrect hitch label was installed, which can lead to overloading of the vehicle.

Consequence: An overloaded vehicle can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ekko motorhomes. The blind spot monitoring system may fail without warning to the driver.

Consequence: Without a functioning blind spot monitoring system, the driver may be unaware of a vehicle in their blind spot, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will install a new blind spot monitoring system, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 16, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Ekko motorhomes. The solar charging system was incorrectly designed without sufficient over-current protection, which can allow the circuit to overheat and melt the fuse.

Consequence: A melted fuse increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the solar controller fuse and components, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535. Winnebago's number for this recall is 186.

Reported: 2026-04-22 (April 22, 2026)

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2022-2027 Ekko motorhomes. The touchscreen display may register unintended or phantom inputs and turn on the generator without the operator's knowledge.

Consequence: People in an enclosed space, such as a garage, with a running generator may be at an increased risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside until the repair has been performed. Winnebago will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge.
