The advanced driver assistance systems , specifically lane departure and emergency steering control system engaged with out warning and caused forced automated steering control. The car swerved rapidly right and left in the lane causing violent body roll and loss of control of the vehicle. Attempts to manually control the steering only made the issue worse . The contact called on behalf of a client who owned a 2024 Vinfast VF8 Eco. The contact stated that the client was driving on a neighborhood street at 30 MPH, approaching an intersection, and attempting to stop, the brake pedal was depressed however the vehicle failed to come to a stop. As a result, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle that was stopped in front. There was no property damage. The air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. It was unknown if any warning lights illuminated. A police report was not filed…

Lane keep assist is not able to detect curves and bend, and it tries to pull on the opposite lane instead keep it in the center of the lane. It is hard to override the steering input.

While accelerating onto a highway, several systems faulted including the high voltage and 12v systems, which apparently cause the vehicle to shift into neutral and get stuck in the neutral position (while still on the highway) Several safety systems on the vehicle (such as forward collision avoidance) constantly fault and then reset themselves as well.

We have two VinFast VF8 vehicles, one with the VIN [XXX] (VF8 Black) and one with the VIN [XXX] (VF8 White). Both vehicles experienced the same problem with the electric power train at different times. The issue manifests itself as follows: The vehicle suddenly displays a "drive train malfunction error" on the center display, it then jerks a couple of times, loses all power, and stops. 2024 VinFast VF8 – Repeated Sudden Loss of Propulsion at Highway Speeds My 2024 VinFast VF8 has experienced three separate incidents of sudden loss of propulsion while being driven at highway speeds. On August 1, 2026, while traveling at approximately 80 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion. I was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the roadway.
