I BROUGHT MY '13 SILVERADO IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE THE A/C WOULD NOT COME ON AND DEFOG THE WINDSHIELD IN THE RECENT SNOW STORM. THE SERVICE REP (CORRECTLY) INFORMED ME THAT THE A/C COMPRESSOR WILL NOT TURN IF THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 40F. SO NO FIX BY THE DEALER WAS DONE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN COLD/FREEZING WEATHER CONDITIONS WHERE THE WINDSHIELD FOGS UP SEVERELY WHEN YOU GET IN THE TRUCK. THE FOGGING CONTINUES EVEN AFTER THE HEATER IS WARMED UP AND BLOWING HOT AIR OUT THE DEFROSTER DUCTS ESPECIALLY IF THE PASSENGERS ARE WET OR SNOWY WHEN T…

I HAVE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I'M NOT SURE WHAT STEPS I SHOULD TAKE IN RESOLVING THIS. HERE'S WHAT HAD HAPPEN: LAST SUNDAY 6-21-15, MY HUSBAND AND I WAS WORKING IN THE GARDEN AND WE HEARD A LOUD POP, APPROX. 30 FEET FROM US WAS MY TRUCK AND THE PASSENGER BACK WINDOW BOWED OUT WITH BREAKAGE OF GLASS.WE WERE IN SHOCK! NOTHING WAS AROUND THE TRUCK, BIRDS, PEOPLE, ETC.. I TOOK PICTURES BEFORE WE DID ANYTHING. I SEARCHED ON THE WEB AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM (DIFFERENT TYPES OF VEHICLES). I NOTICED LITERALLY FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT THAT THE DASH BOARD IN MY 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO IS CRACKING. THE CRACK APPEARED ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BAG. I BABY THIS TRUCK IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP IT LOOKING NEW. I DON'T EVEN REALLY DRIVE IT AND IT IS GARAGE KEPT. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CRACK BEING RIGHT THERE ON THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. I HAVE TWO KIDS AND I DON'T EVEN LET THEN RIDE UP FRONT ANYMORE IN FEAR THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT DEPLOY AND SHARP PIECES OF THE DASH WILL FLY IN THEIR FACES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. ONCE THE DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED, IT FAILED TO DEFROST THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD BLOCKING THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FLAP WAS STUCK AND MANUALLY MOVED THE FLAPPER.
