The contact owns a 2004 Thor Hurricane built on a 2003 Ford F-550 chassis. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The brake pedal was applied but failed to respond and the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights flickered and lost power. TRAVELING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE WHEN MOTORHOME COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. ENGINE DIED, NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES, NO TURN SIGNALS, NO HAZARD LIGHTS. ONLY LUCKY TRAFFIC DIDN'T SLOW OR COME TO COMPLETE STOP BECAUSE IT TOOK EVERYTHING I HAD TO STEER TO ROADSIDE AND HAD HALF MILE TO STOP. TOWED TO CLOSEST SERVICE CENTER THAT DISCOVERED CHASSIS BATTERY DISCONNECT FAILED. RESEARCHED PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED MANY OTHERS HAD SAME PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 THOR HURRICANE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR HOME CHASSIS FAILED AND CAUSED THE RV TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL SEVERAL TIMES TO KEEP THE MOTOR HOME FROM STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR HOME WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V265000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED.
