The contact owns a 2004 Thor Hurricane built on a 2003 Ford F-550 chassis. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The brake pedal was applied but failed to respond and the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights flickered and lost power. TRAVELING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE WHEN MOTORHOME COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. ENGINE DIED, NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES, NO TURN SIGNALS, NO HAZARD LIGHTS. ONLY LUCKY TRAFFIC DIDN'T SLOW OR COME TO COMPLETE STOP BECAUSE IT TOOK EVERYTHING I HAD TO STEER TO ROADSIDE AND HAD HALF MILE TO STOP. TOWED TO CLOSEST SERVICE CENTER THAT DISCOVERED CHASSIS BATTERY DISCONNECT FAILED. RESEARCHED PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED MANY OTHERS HAD SAME PROBLEM. 2007 TMC HURRICANE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BATTERY FAILURE RECALL NOTICE AND CONSUMER SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *SMD THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO REIMBURSE THE CONSUMER FOR THE REPAIR WORK. ALSO, THE SWAY BAR MOUNT BUSHINGS WERE WORN.

2007 THOR HURRICANE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULTY WIRING REPAIRS PRIOR TO THE RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MOTOR HOME LOST ALL POWER FOR A SHORT TIME, BUT THEN RESUMED. A SHORT TIME LATER, THE CONSUMER PARKED THE MOTOR HOME AND WHEN HE RETURNED, ONCE AGAIN THERE WAS NO POWER AND HE WAS UNABLE TO START IT.

VOLTAGE TRANSFER SWITCH BURNED UP, THIS MODEL IOTA ITS-50R HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR 5TH WHEEL AND TRAILERS BUT NOT FOR MORORHOMES. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT IT WAS 1:30 IN THE MORNING WHILE THE MOTOR HOME WAS CONNECTED TO 50 AMP SHORE POWER WITH JACKS AND 3 SLIDES EXTENDED. WOKE UP TO ALARM AND COACH FILLED WITH SMOKE AND SMELLED LIKE BURNED WIRES, INSPECTION OF TRANSFER SWITHCH INSIDE OF BOX WAS MELTED AND COVER WAS CHARRED, NOT SURE OF DAMAGE UNTIL DEALER REPLACES THE TRANSFER SWITCH AND INSPECTS ALL 110 ELECTRICAL COMPONETS.
