Owner report 11010490 · 2017-07-25 (July 25, 2017)

ON 4TH, JUNE, 2017, I WAS DRIVING THIS 2-MONTH-OLD TESLA MODEL X. WHILE I WAS MAKING A TURN AT ONE OF THE DOWNWARD PASSAGE IN A CARPARK, THE STEERING WHEEL COULD NOT MOVE ALL OF A SUDDEN, AND A WARNING POPPED UP SAYING CAR NEED SERVICE/STEERING ASSIST REDUCED. THEN A WHILE LATER THE STEERING WHEEL COULD MOVE AGAIN ALLOW ME TO FINISH THE TURN, BUT THEN STOPPED WORKING AGAIN LEAVING ME STUCK IN THE CAR PARK. THEIR TECHNICIAN REPLIED THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED TO A NUMBER OF MODEL X CARS BUT ONLY WHILE PARKED AND NOT DURING DRIVING. AFTER INSPE…

THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TESLA AUTOPILOT. HERE IS A CREDIBLE AND EASILY VERIFIED REPORT BY A TESLA OWNER IN UK WHO HAS HAD A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE WHILE ON AUTOPILOT: HTTPS://TESLAMOTORSCLUB.COM/TMC/THREADS/AT-WHAT-POINT-DO-I-SAY-ENOUGH-IS-ENOUGH.100508/ ** A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE CAR WHILST IN AUTO PILOT SUDDENLY SWERVED ACROSS THE MOTORWAY INTO THE MIDDLE LANE. I CAUGHT IT HALF WAY ACROSS. THE MOTORWAY WAS PERFECT. (INTERESTINGLY AT A SUPERCHARGER, I ASKED THE GUY NEXT TO ME IF THIS HAD EVER HAPPENED TO HIM, AND HE SAID 'FUNNILY ENOUGH,…

Owner report 10991707 · 2017-05-25 (May 25, 2017)

MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE 'AUTOSTEER' FEATURE. IT'S UNCLEAR WHY THIS IS CONSIDERED AN OPTION AND IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT FUNCTION AS DESCRIBED WHEN I CHECKED IT OFF AS A 5000.00 OPTION UNDER 'ENHANCED AUTOPILOT' WHEN ORDERING MY TESLA. THE SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS, NOT READY FOR BETA TESTING AND CERTAINLY SHOULDN'T BE USED ON PUBLIC ROADWAYS OR WITH ANYONE YOU VALUE IN THE CAR. I CAN SEE IT BEING TESTING ON CLOSED ROADWAYS BY SKILLED PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS BUT OUTSIDE OF THAT IT IS DANGEROUS TO ENGAGE AT ANY SPEED. ON SURFACE STREETS IT CROSSES OVER INTO…

Owner report 11045400 · 2017-11-12 (November 12, 2017)

HERE IS ANOTHER MODEL X IN THE JUNKYARD. HTTPS://WWW.IAAI.COM/VEHICLE?ITEMID=26559880&ROWNUMBER=51&LOADRECENT=TRUE IT HAS BEEN IN A FRONT END COLLISION AND HAS BIO-HAZARD STICKERS INDICATING THAT OCCUPANTS HAVE BEEN INJURED. THE FRONT END IS BADLY DAMAGED BUT THE BACK END OF THE CAR IS UNTOUCHED EXCEPT THAT THE BACK LEFT WHEEL IS CANTED OVER AT AN ANGLE MEANING THAT THE SUSPENSION IS BROKEN. THE WHEEL AND TIRE ARE UNDAMAGED SO IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS BROKEN BY IMPACT DAMAGE. AS CAN BE SEEN FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF TH…

BATTERY RANGE HAS SIGNIFICANTLY AND SUDDENLY DROPPED. WHILE TESLA HAS STATED THIS IS 'NORMAL BATTERY DEGRADATION,' IT APPEARS THROUGH RESEARCH THIS MAY BE SOFTWARE LIMITED, DUE TO RECENT BATTERY FIRES WHICH ARE LIFE THREATENING. INSTEAD OF ADMITTING THE SAFETY ISSUE, RECALLING THE BATTERY, AND ENSURING A SAFER BATTERY IS INSTALLED, TESLA IS UPDATING SOFTWARE OPAQUELY. THIS IS FOR A MODEL X 75D WITH A 75 KWH BATTERY, AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEGUN WITH FIRMWARE 2019.32 ONWARD.

HERE IS A COMPLAINT POSTED ON THE TESLA FORUM ABOUT A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING: HTTPS://FORUMS.TESLA.COM/FORUM/FORUMS/BROKEN-POWER-STEERING SNIP** MY WIFE CALLED TODAY TO TELL ME HER NEW TESLA X HAD AN ERROR LIGHT THAT SAID SERVICE AND POWER STEERING ASSIST MAY BE LIMITED. I CALLED MY LOCAL CENTER TO INQUIRE AS TO WHAT TO DO NEXT. I ASKED IF THE CAR WAS DRIVEABLE, AS AT THAT TIME THE STEERING SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE. THEY SAID GO FOR IT, THEY'D LOOK AT THE LOGS AND GET BACK TO ME. SURE ENOUGH ON MY WAY HOME FROM AN ERRAND WITH MY 3 KIDS…

THE CONTACT CALLED TESLA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY REMOTELY REBOOTED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT CALLED TESLA BURBANK (811 SOUTH SAN FERNANDO RD, BURBANK, CA, (818)480-9217) TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. Owner report 11437973 · 2021-10-24 (October 24, 2021)

During hard rainfall the software of the vehicle issues an error: the windshield wipers, headlights, taillights and turn signal all stop working. Lane assist and parking assist fail as well. Sometimes the vehicle shifts into park when you stop. After stopping the vehicle, the doors won't open so you cannot exit the car. It does not matter if the car is moving or stationary when the software fails. You have to reboot the car and hope it resolves, usually it doesn't, or most often just wait to time the software glitch for the moment when the func…

Owner report 11619734 · 2024-10-14 (October 14, 2024)

I had a reoccurrence of Incident 11609414. After the original incident I had my car towed to the service center and "fixed". I paid out of pocket since my warranty did not cover the problem they claimed that caused my issues. 5 weeks later I had the same issue recur, while out shopping. My car would not shift into park, the emergency brake failed, my seat restraint failed, my airbag failed, my ABS failed, my steering assist failed. I had to stay in my car with my foot on the brake until I could get my car towed to the service center. Had I take…
