TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. DIFFERENTIAL PIN BROKE AND CRACKED THE BELL HOUSING. FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING AND LESS THAN 5000 MILES AFTER REGULAR 90K TRANSMISSION SERVICE. REQUIRES COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AT EST COST OF $3,500. VEHICLE HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED WITH VERY LIGHT DUTY USE. CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT IS UNWARRANTED FOR WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE OF THIS AGE.

VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AS A RESULT THE DRIVER RECEIVED HEAD, NECK, CHEST AND BACK INJURIES. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCED RECURRING ELECTRICAL AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THERE WERE SEVERAL REASONABLE REPAIR ATTEMPTS MADE TO HAVE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND TRANSMISSION REPAIRED. *MR *CB *NLM

ENGINE DIES WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN MOTION. TODAY, IT QUIT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC NEARLY RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HAS 150K MILES. *AK THE STALLS USUALLY OCCUR UPON LETTING UP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT WILL NORMALLY RESTART IMMEDIATELY, BUT TO CONTINUE RUNNING THE ACCELERATOR NEEDS HELD DOWN TO HOLD THE ENGINE A LITTLE ABOVE IDLE SPEED - YOU HAVE TO DRIVE WITH TWO FEET. THIS VEHICLE WAS CONVERTED FOR MY DISABLED DAUGHTER'S USE, BY DRIVING SPECIALTIES.EVERY EVENT WAS REPORTED TO THEN AND MOST TO CHRYSLER,ALSO.FROM THE BEGINNING IT HAS PLAGUED US WITH ELECTRICAL AND FUEL DEFECTS.WE CAN NOT USE THIS VEHICLE.IT IS TOO DANGEROUS.I WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE/ACTION,FROM THE GOVERNMENT.I WILL EMAIL YOU THE 8 PAGES OF DETAILED EVENTS. WE HAVE INFORMED DEALER OF PROBLEM WITH VAN DIENG. HAVE HAD IT WORKED ON OR LOOKED AT AT LEAST 5 TIMES. WHEN MECHANICS HAVE HAD IT THEY SAY THAT ITS OK THEN WE GET IT DOWN THE ROAD IT DIES IN TRAFFIC . HAVE MADE REAPIRS OF AT LEAST $500 ON IT NEVER FIXING THE PROBLEM. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT IT HAD BEEN TUNE UP AND TAKEN CARE OF WELL BY FORMER OWNERS, BUT FIRST MECHANIC SAID SAME FILTERS AND PLUGS WERE ON IT SINCE IT WAS NEW, ACTUALLY WANTED TO FRAME THE FUEL FILTER IT WAS SO DIRTY NEVER SEEN ONE THAT BAD BEFORE!
