Owner report 10910206 · 2016-09-28 (September 28, 2016)

SINCE JUNE, 2016, MY BRAND NEW JAYCO PRECEPT 31UL MOTORHOME HAS BEEN AT THE MANTECA RV DEALERSHIP WHILE MULTIPLE ISSUES ARE BEING ADDRESSED. WHEN DRIVING IT, THE RV CONSTANTLY WANDERED ON THE ROAD LANE, REQUIRING CONSTANT CORRECTION TO KEEP IT TRACKING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH STEERING WAS REFERRED TO AN ALIGNMENT SHOP IN MANTECA. THE RECOMMENDED FIX WAS REPAIR OF THE CAMBERS. THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE STEERING WHEEL NOW OUT OF PLACE. THIS STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM WAS DISCUSSED FORD, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE CHASSIS, AS JAYCO …

Owner report 11511589 · 2023-03-13 (March 13, 2023)

The contact owns a 2020 Jayco Precept RV constructed on a 2019 Ford F-53 chassis. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the screws used to secure the brackets holding the 300-pound refrigerator failed, and the refrigerator became unsecured, causing the 25-foot long passenger’s side slider to detach. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact stated that the failure had previously occurred on multiple occasions and the passenger’s side slide brake and Hydraulic pump were replaced. Additionally, the over…

Owner report 11352159 · 2020-08-30 (August 30, 2020)

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES, CURRENT PARTS ON ORDER AT REPAIR SHOP. I HAD SOME MORE ELECTRICAL ISSUES DEVELOP. I FOUND THAT THERE ARE MELTING WIRES AND THE PLASTIC STORAGE BIN ABOVE THERE AREA ALSO HAS MELTED. ALL THIS DAMAGE IS IN FRONT OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHERE THE LEFT AND RIGHT EXHAUST JOIN. IT GOT SO HOT TO MELT THE PLASTIC BOX. IF THIS CONTINUED, IT COULD EASILY CATCH FIRE. THE ELECTRICAL WIRES CAN CAUSE A FIRE. MY WIFE REFUSED TO RIDE IN THE RV NOW WHEN WE MOVED, SHE FOLLOWED IN THE CAR. I HAVE SEVERAL WARRANTY ISS…

Owner report 11555239 · 2023-11-15 (November 15, 2023)

Gears in steering gear box must be "sloppy". Constantly needing to correct to drive a straight line down the road. I have gone to "Safety Plus Steering Control" and had them install the proper Control arm, thinking this would solve the problem. It has not. The constant correcting of the steering going down the road is tiring. I believe the gearbox is the problem. This has been a problem ever since I bought it new in 2020, and is getting worse. Thank you

Owner report 11757952 · 2026-08-19 (August 19, 2026)

I purchased this 2026 Jayco Precept 34G Class A motorhome new in May 2026. During the first approximately 1,000 miles, it exhibited severe steering/handling instability requiring constant correction at highway speeds. As a first-time Class A owner, I initially thought this might be normal and continued operating it with family aboard. On XXX, a Ford commercial service center inspected the motorhome and documented missing steering-stabilizer hardware, specifically a missing nut, and a bent stabilizer shock. The service center photographed the de…

Owner report 11467768 · 2022-06-06 (June 6, 2022)

After filling our motorhome with fuel and driving on a trip, we noticed a check engine light that came on. I noticed a smell of gas but couldn’t pin point where it was coming from at that time. We ordered a code reader and it showed a large EVAP leak code which seemed to be there for a while but looked like it was cleared previously. Could still smell gas, so husband went under motorhome and smell got worse. Saw fuel leaking from filler hose that goes into fuel tank and no clamps in this particular area that was leaking fuel.
