2007 JAYCO GREYHAWK 33DS THERE IS EVIDENCE OF AN ELECTRICAL FIRE IN THE TRANSFER SWITCH FOR THE MAIN CABIN THAT DAMAGED THE TRANSFER SWITCH, LEFT RESIDUE AND CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SERVICE FAILURE TO THE FRONT OF THE CABIN WHILE OPERATING ON THE ON-BOARD GENERATOR. THIS OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS UNTIL A TOTAL FAILURE CEASED OPERATIONS. THE TRANSFER SWITCH WAS ULTIMATELY REPLACED BY A SERVICE DEALER AND THE FAILED UNIT IS IN MY POSSESSION. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER INDICATED THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY AN ISSUE WITH ONE OF…

WHILE CAMPING IN A CAMPSITE AND CONNECTED TO SHORE POWER THE IOTA 50 AMP AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH (ATS) SHORTED AND CAUGHT FIRE. THERE WAS SMOKE IN THE CABIN AND FLAMES COMING FROM THE ATS WHICH EXTINGUISHED THEMSELVES BEFORE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER COULD BE RETRIEVED FROM THE FRONT OF THE CABIN. *JS THE RESULTING DAMAGE BESIDES THE ATS ALSO INCLUDED MAINLINE WIRING TO THE SHORE POWER CONNECTION AND THE MAIN CIRCUIT PANEL.
