Owner report 11533267 · 2023-07-19 (July 19, 2023)

The vehicle went into limp mode while traveling on the highway. Vehicle decelerated from 65mph to 30mph very quickly & without warning (no indicator lights came on). I was almost rear ended, since the car behind be had no idea I was decelerating due to no brake lights. It then slowly decelerated to 14mph as I was able to get off highway. Upon inspection, by me, the vehicle was found to have very little oil & I do get my oil changes on the required interval at the dealership. It had been about 2500miles since my last oil change. This vehicl…

Owner report 11549300 · 2023-10-11 (October 11, 2023)

Hyundai has failed to remedy recall 235 within a reasonable amount of time, and is misreporting the stats of completed repairs related to this recall. They state that owner notification letters and dealer instructions were mailed May 2023 and that "dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge." Yet, the dealerships I've contacted do not have the replacement parts and have not been able to repair my vehicle despite many inquiries. I have inquired with Hyundai USA about this permanent recall remedy and th…

Owner report 11464118 · 2022-05-10 (May 10, 2022)

While driving my car it loses all power steering, said something about lane assist, shows a red circle with an exclamation point. This is dangerous as I can't turn. The only fix is to attempt to pull over, turn the car off and let it reset. This has happened three times in the middle of traffic, nearly causing accidents.

Owner report 11469840 · 2022-06-17 (June 17, 2022)

The car pulls to the right and it is hard to steer left. At speeds higher than 50mph the steering wheels vibrates when turning left to correct the veering. The Lane Departure and Lane Keeping Assist to not operate correctly because the car veers to the right. I have had the car serviced twice within one week of purchasing and there is no fix from the dealer nor Hyundai. This issue was apparent within minutes of first driving the car, there are no warning lights. The alignment is out of spec but cannot be corrected by the dealer. The caus…

Owner report 11517572 · 2023-04-18 (April 18, 2023)

I had a "engine overheat" warning while I was parked. I checked and noticed the coolant level was low. So, I added coolant and the warning went away. I thought it was just a one-time thing. After a week, I parked my car while I went to pick up something at the store. My mother was in the car so I left the car running. When I came back, I noticed a very strong smell of coolant and saw the "engine overheat" warning again, the car was blowing hot air. I turned off the car and opened up the hood and saw coolant liquid was all over and also o…

Owner report 11660161 · 2025-05-10 (May 10, 2025)

I am writing to formally report a significant safety concern involving my 2022 Hyundai Palisade, specifically related to the radiator and coolant system. In November 2024, I experienced issues indicative of a coolant leak, including engine overheating warnings and noticeable coolant odors. Upon investigation, I discovered that Hyundai had issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #23-EM-003H on August 3, 2023, acknowledging that certain 2020–2022 Palisade models may exhibit a slight coolant leak at the radiator. Despite this acknowledgment, Hyu…

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that after his wife started the vehicle there were several warning messages displayed on the instrument panel including the check engine light, traction control, fuel-saving, forward collision, and master warning lights. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who discovered that the electrical wiring harness had been chewed on and damaged by rodents. The wiring harness was replaced, and the failure was remedied. The contact was informed that because the wiring harness was manufact…

Owner report 11467028 · 2022-06-01 (June 1, 2022)

Speedometer stopped working and went to Zero MPH June 1, 2022. Vehicle has only 2,800 miles on it. Shutting off and restarting the car did not solve this. Simultaneously, the car compass indicated wrong direction; a safety announcement came over the infotainment system repeatedly telling us we were driving the wrong way on the street (we were not). No other indicators of a malfunction came on and the car's internal diagnostics said all was normal despite this problem. Went immediately to Hyundai dealer who confirmed the problem. Dealer fixed it…

Owner report 11580014 · 2024-03-28 (March 28, 2024)

The car had no warnings, inspection not due anytime soon but suddenly it started having blockage while driving(when it switches from one gear to next). It basically became non-drivable at any speed. Upon calling Hyundai service center, initially they were giving appointment 1 month away. Finally, they gave an appointment earlier, took the car and they suspect it’s a transmission problem and they have cars with same problems coming in and that there is difficulty in getting this part due to shortage and lot of similar complaints. This looks like…

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the RPM' increased quickly; however, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. Owner report 11464099 · 2022-05-10 (May 10, 2022)

On May 7, 2022 I was driving to Georgia to visit a loved one in the hospital at night. I was driving by myself with my dog. Approximately 1:50 AM, I stopped in Greensville, NC (my halfway point to my destination) to relieve myself, let the dog relieve himself, and fill up my gas tank for the 2nd time (which was 5 hours from my destination). Approximately 15-20 mins after getting back on the road, I opened my sunroof to smoke a cigarette and I hear a loud "boom" on the roof of my vehicle. I looked up to see if my roof luggage crossbars were stil…

Owner report 11604817 · 2024-07-26 (July 26, 2024)

In April 2022, we purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a dealership due to persistent issues with our previous Hyundai Santa Fe, which had ongoing engine problems and recalls. After multiple unsuccessful repairs and software updates on the Santa Fe, we decided to trade it in for the Palisade. Since the purchase, the Palisade has undergone over ten warranty-related repairs. In early 2023, an oil consumption test revealed significant warranty concerns, leading the dealership to keep the vehicle for additional diagnostics. This process laste…
