Owner report 11421688 · 2021-06-21 (June 21, 2021)

Hyundai Motor America and Genesis Motor America are recalling my 2017 Genesis G80 vehicle to address a risk with anti-lock break system (ABS) modules because it could malfunction internally and case an electrical short over time potentially resulting in engine compartment fire. I contacted the dealership and they claim that do not have the required part to resolve the issue. Also they do not have an estimated delivery date for the part. Please advise.

Owner report 11499367 · 2022-12-29 (December 29, 2022)

Steering becomes unresponsive after highway speed for an hour or more. Feels like sticking or binding (loss of power assist?) and considerable effort needed to adjust vehicle direction. Most notable on exit ramps. Several times I came close to going off an exit ramp onto the shoulder. Even driving along a straight highway the steering is no longer smooth or consistent. Thus, steering is very unpredictable. This is definitely a safety issue. This started at 29,000 mile about 2 weeks ago and has not gone away. The first dealer service appointmen…

Engine while driving inadvertently stalls and vehicle shuts off. Does not matter what the conditions are. Have to place vehicle back in park and completely shut down vehicle to restart. It first starts by engine slowing down and then engine speeding up and ultimately stopping. My TWO WEEK OLD 2023 Genesis G80, which has less than 1000 miles on it, lost all motive power (i.e. power to the engine) after driving for approximately four hours. We were sitting in stop-and-go-traffic on the George Washington Bridge in New York, with the engine off (because of the vehicle's auto-off function). When the car ahead of us moved, I lifted my foot off the brake pedal, pressed the gas, and the engine immediately failed to respond, sputtered, and stopped. After about a minute, we were able to restart the engine and continue drivi…
