PREMATURE BREAK WEAR...FRONT BREAKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT JUST UNDER 30,000 MILES INCLUDING NEED FOR NEW ROTORS. AT 39800, TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. FORD IS SAYING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH PREMATURE BREAK WEAR, BUT THIS IS VERY, VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN BRAKE FAILURE. *LN

FRONT BRAKE PADS COMPLETELY WORN DOWN TO THE METAL AT 5000 MILES. REAR BRAKES DEALER MECHANIC FIRST TOLD ME HAD 15% LEFT, THEN THEY "REINSPECTED" AND SAID THEY HAD 50% LEFT AND WERE "FINE" AFTER I COMPLAINED. DEALER FINALLY REPLACED FRONT BRAKES UNDER WARRANTY, AFTER FIRST TELLING ME WERE "NORMAL" WEAR AND TEAR AND THUS WERE NOT COVERED. *TR

OVER THE YEARS, THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BECOME LOSE TO THE POINT THAT THERE IS ALMOST 3/4" OF PLAY AT THE OUTER EDGE. THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT STAY ON A FLAT PLANE. THIS CONDITION OCCURS AT ALL TIMES. IT MATTERS NOT IF THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, OR IF I AM IN MOTION, TURNING, OR BREAKING.

2010 Ford Transit Connect 120,000 miles Pulled driver door (electric lock) latch handle to exit vehicle. Upon pulling the door latch handle a very loud buzz lasting for approximately 1 to 2 seconds came from the driver door. I remained in the vehicle and closed the driver door and pressed the door lock mechanism and all doors locked. I then pulled on the driver door latch handle to unlock the doors which resulted in the same loud buzz from the driver's door. I exited the vehicle and locked it using the key fob. Upon returning to the vehicle I …

MULTIPLE TIMES, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SEEMS TO JUST SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. WITH NO WARNING ALL THE LIGHTS AND DASH INDICATORS WILL FLASH AND ALL GO OUT. ENGINE WILL BRIEFLY RUN, THEN QUIT. SEVERAL TIMES BEEN VERY LUCKY TO GET OFF ROAD OR FREEWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. FORD DEALER WORKED ON IT FOR 1+ YRS, REPLACED ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. I'VE TROUBLE TESTED AND FIND NO ISSUES. NO APPARENT GROUNDING ISSUES. NO FUSES OR RELAYS APPEAR TO BE FAULTY. FOUND MANY LIKE-COMPLAINTS ONLINE. ACTS LIKE A BATTERY/ALTERNATOR ISSUE. BUT LATER, AFTER JUMP…

Owner report 11584273 · 2024-04-20 (April 20, 2024)

1. The heat shielding around the exhaust system failed to protect the fuel tank from exhaust heat. Heat from the exhaust system melted holes in the fuel tank, causing fuel to leak from the tank. The parts are at the Ford dealer with the vehicle. 2. The fuel tank developed leaks when it melted, causing a risk of fire or explosion. 3. The dealer confirmed that the fuel tank melted and leaked due to heat from the exhaust system. In diagnosing the issue, they refilled the fuel tank and it continued to leak. 4. To my knowledge, the vehicle or com…

Owner report 11461601 · 2022-04-21 (April 21, 2022)

The muffler split open most likely from a clog. Because of that, the exhaust was directed toward the floor of the truck instead of going out of the muffler. As a result, it burnt through the heat shield, the back of the truck, melted the wiring harness, and burned a hole straight through the fuel tank. A mechanic took out the fuel tank and when it was being dropped out fuel spilled everywhere and there was a hole in the side of the tank. Since the wiring harness was melted, there was no power and no fuel pump power. The safety of the driver wa…
