Owner report 11501985 · 2023-01-16 (January 16, 2023)
I know there are issues with the Hybrid versions, but this one is not a hybrid. I have had the battery die 4 separate times resulting in me being stranded due to no fault of my own. This Ford Maverick was purchased through the Military Auto Sales at Ramstein AB Germany. It is US-spec and owned/operated by a US Military member stationed overseas. The first time it happened at the Frankfurt airport after owning it for a week and driving it from the Port of Bremerhaven (port of entry). Once I got it jumped and back to Ramstein I did not have an is…

Owner report 11469010 · 2022-06-13 (June 13, 2022)
Mavericks with Integrated Trailer Brake Controllers are not sending any voltage to the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is pressed. Customers are at risk of not having the anticipated additional braking ability of their trailers and will be putting the entire braking load on the truck alone. A Ford dealership had my vehicle for 2 weeks with no repairs done or guidance on when it would be repaired.

Owner report 11481721 · 2022-08-29 (August 29, 2022)
Transmission Failure. Following a 550 mile road trip over two days. The transmission would fail to engage in Drive and Reverse until the engine was throttled to 4000-4500RPM. Transmission felt like a Manual with failing clutch, would slip until slowly engaging after running at high RPMs for a few seconds. The condition appeared after the first day of the trip, and was intermittent, occurring only during standing starts. Once the vehicle was moving, there was no problem maintaining speed. Over the next two days the condition deteriorated to the …

Owner report 11593808 · 2024-06-12 (June 12, 2024)
I was driving on the freeway driving eastbound on 152 and I switch to the fast lane to pass a vehicle and the throttle stopped working, the truck lost speed and the truck turned off, a message popped on the screen saying that I needed to put it in park. I put it in park put the hazards on and attempt to restart it and it would crank but wouldn’t start. I did this until the allowed amount of times reached its limit. I attempted to put the gear in neutral but the knob was stuck. The truck was at a slight angle as I was going uphill and couldn’t g…

Owner report 11505935 · 2023-02-06 (February 6, 2023)
(there is a brake system malfunction. When braking sometimes the brakes would skip and I could feel the brakes not grabbing the rotors the way they should. the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer because the dealership could not figure out what was causing the problem with the brakes. the dealership inspected the brakes. there was no warning lamps or messages of the brake problem.) I first started to hear a intermittent rubbing noise when braking and driving slow a couple months after I purchased the vehicle. I took it the…

Owner report 11546211 · 2023-09-24 (September 24, 2023)
I was driving back home from errands and during a stop, the entire car suddenly powered off and became unresponsive. I couldn’t even flash my hazards and was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. Also couldn’t put it in neutral since the gear shifter is electronically powered. Some bystanders tried to jump my car, but it took 6 solid tries before they could restore power. I drove it another 1000 ft, trying to head to a service center and this time it completely powered off while in motion. I had to fight with the steering wheel to pull it…

Owner report 11497241 · 2022-12-13 (December 13, 2022)
The main fuel line feeding the fuel pump ruptured without warning, causing gas to spray across the engine compartment. The hot engine caused the gas to start cooking off, resulting in a fire in the engine compartment. The fuel line rupture has been confirmed by my Ford dealership.

Owner report 11563638 · 2024-01-04 (January 4, 2024)
I bought a 2022 Maverick on 12 JAN 2022. The car broke down on the highway six months after (23 JUL 2022). Ford service department claimed it was a fuel injector issue and by replacing the part, the truck should be as good as new. Fast forward to Sat 30 DEC 2023 and the truck breaks down on the highway again with the engine light flashing. Ford service department informed me that the engine has to be replaced because several parts are broken/shattered and they do not know how. I am inclined to believe that the issue was never fixed to begin wit…
