Owner report 11455245 · 2022-03-04 (March 4, 2022)
Engine surging while idling. The catalytic converter will get red hot. Also a rattling noise that sounds like rocks near the driver side wheel well in side the engine bay. When using the auto brake system at a stop light when cold you can feel the engine surge and feels like the brake is going to let loose.

Owner report 11470620 · 2022-06-23 (June 23, 2022)
Rolling up to a stop applying gradually increasing pressure to the brake pedal, instead of slowly coming to a halt, vehicle does not react to your braking input until you apply double the pressure at which point a loud clunk from the front wheels occur (which you can feel through the steering wheel) and your wheels lock up.

Total loss of electrical functions. Vehicle was unable to turn on, and non responsive leaving driver and passengers stranded. This can happen at any time, randomly. No warning lights or symptoms appeared. This has been happening to other drivers of Hybrid Mavericks.

Owner report 11459770 · 2022-04-05 (April 5, 2022)
Some 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrids have a faulty seal and leak oil onto transmission and clutch. I was accelerating on the HWY when engine light came on (solid). Noticed it needed more time and effort to accelerate. When parked and ran idle vehicle would suddenly jump- the rpm would shoot up sporadically for several minutes. There were no prior symbols or symptoms to this issue, and the vehicle is new. It happened exactly at 128 miles. Issue was apparent less than 12hrs of ownership. Took it to the Ford dealership which I purchased the vehicle …

Owner report 11472593 · 2022-07-06 (July 6, 2022)
With the initial instance (it has happened 3 separate times), I was traveling on the interstate on the way back from Tennessee to Georgia and stepped on the accelerator (basically punched it) to get around a big rig, all of a sudden I get a "tow truck" icon on my dash and the accelerator is unresponsive, so I think I was in electric mode only if that. Fortunately, I was close to an exit and was able to coast to a stop in a parking lot. I put it in park, whereby the shifter dial then locked into park, could not change it. My wife read a blog on …

Owner report 11485485 · 2022-09-20 (September 20, 2022)
Vehicle wouldn't start, had to jump start it under the hood. 12V battery under rear seat showed sufficient voltage. Took vehicle to dealer and they reproduced and confirmed the conditions. Vehicle is still at the dealership awaiting repair. Suspect faulty soldered terminal in the battery wiring harness. Safety issue if similar faulty soldered joints exist throughout the wiring harness or electrical system causing more catastrophic conditions, i.e. loss of power while driving.

Owner report 11476839 · 2022-08-01 (August 1, 2022)
I was driving on the highway at about 70 MPH when the truck gave me a "Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" notification & the red battery light came on. The truck then had a "Pull Over Immediately" (Not 100% sure on the wording) notification on the dashboard and stopped accelerating. Once the notification popped up and the truck stopped accelerating, the air conditioning & power steering also stopped working. I was able to coast long enough to get over to the shoulder where I was able to call a tow truck. While waiting for the tow truck, the …

Rubber filler tube that connects to gas tank is leaking! I see many people online with the same issue! The leak is coming from the connection where the hose clamp is not the tank!!! The clamp is tight!
