The contact's father owned a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his father was driving at 75-80 MPH on self-driving mode, the electronic steering wheel inadvertently locked, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and the vehicle crashed into an exit sign on the interstate. The air bags deployed. Then, the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably 260 yards and crashed into a tree where the vehicle came to a stop. A police report was filed. When Blue Cruise is activated and the vehicle takes a semi sharp turn it does not straighten back out and attempts to continue into oncoming traffic. Does not seem to happen on the interstate, I believe its because the curves are not as sharp. This is a frequent issue that happens continuously. Brought it to the attention of the dealer when I had the recall performed. They recommended a tech ride with me to reproduce it, but it was not offered at time of pickup. Left rear axle bolt sheared off into the wheel spontaneously. It is available for inspection. . Currently at dealer right now for repair. Dealer indicates vehicle not safe to drive due to potential for loss of wheel, brake components and wheel hub/axle during travel. I have not experienced loss of a wheel while driving luckily. There were no warning lamps/messages etc. No symptoms of the problem prior to failure were noted. The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle made a hard-left turn while attempting to merge into the left lane. The contact stated that a message to assume control of the vehicle was displayed and the navigation system independently deactivated. The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to make a turn from a complete stop at an intersection, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond.
