Owner report 11427976 · 2021-08-06 (August 6, 2021)

I purchased a new Hybtid 2021 Platinum Ford F-150 in March. On Wednesday, August 5th, I reported to Ford I received a warning light “your charging system required service soon.” Since I had the truck serviced one week before, I contacted the dealer and the earliest they could see me was next Tuesday. ( specialist has to work on the truck). Since I was out of town located in Boone, NC, I went to their local Ford dealer and reported my problem. The earliest they could see me was one week from now. I drove the truck for two days with no additional…

On several occasions while waiting in an intersection to make a left turn, the vehicle loses power or something. I can put the pedal to the floor and I get no response from the vehicle. Eventually after stepping on gas the truck seems to reimage and go. The only problem is I have nearly been T-Boned thinking I will have the power to make a left turn before oncoming traffic gets to me. I suspect it has something to do with the electrical power is trying to switch to engine power and something is failing. I have no confidence in this truck anymor…

Towing faults. Trailer brake faults. System resets itself after truck shuts down and problems go away until an unknown later time. These problems can happen at any time while towing and can cause the tow vehicle to loose control especially when brakes are applied. Happened many times over a 4800 mile trip. The work around fix is to stop every now and then, turn off truck and wait 15 min before reattaching trailer wiring. This problem has not be reproduced by a dealer because the problem goes away after the truck sits and resets itself. At f…

Owner report 11445442 · 2021-12-29 (December 29, 2021)

The trailer brake on my truck is not working consistently. When coming down a snowy mountain pass two days ago, the bake controller disconnected (after working for about 5 hours). This is incredibly dangerous and due to the fact that I am on a cross country road trip and all dealers are booked months in advance I have not been able to get any information from Ford. I am going to post links to other people having this same problem. This has happened since the truck was purchased. This is an incredibly dangerous situation and I would have expe…

2021 F-150 Powerboost giving "Trailer brake system fault" when not in use and has never been used. Additionally getting the "Key not detected" alert when key in truck. Battery in fob has been replaced and tested to be good. These errors have no known trigger mechanisms to repeat. Just happen on their own. I am becoming increasingly concerned if these can continue to worsen over time. Dealer says they havent really seen either issue. Truck was pruchased 11/17/21 and currently has 1998.5 miles.
