Owner report 11459546 · 2022-04-04 (April 4, 2022)

1. Transmission. Stays in higher gears at stops. When starting out it barely moves in response to gas pedal increase. At about 3,000 RPMs it engages and jerks violently ahead. After this happened several times I noticed the transmission gear light was in a higher gear at stop, like 7th gear. Therefore the motor had to rev up to 7th gear speed before it would move adequately. Has to be hard on the transmission when this happens, also embarrassing and very dangerous should you have to cross a busy roadway quickly. It also downshifts suddenly all …

Owner report 11471826 · 2022-06-30 (June 30, 2022)

New 2022 Ford F-150 vehicle has a "Rear Brake Assist Not Available" dash warning with accompanting DTCs B1578:78, IPMA Error, and U023A, Lost Communication with Image Processing Module A. I should note my Check Engine Light never came on for either of these DTCs - I was given these codes by the dealer when I took vehicle in for service concerning the aforementioned dash warning. After having the vehicle for 10 days in May 2022, the dealer replaced the rear camera (ML3Z-19G490-C), control assembly (ML3Z-14G647-R), and performed an IPMA calibrat…

Owner report 11469887 · 2022-06-18 (June 18, 2022)

I was driving about 50 mph traveling from Bethel, NC to Canton, NC and was approaching Canton so I was slowing down. The first traffic light was red so I stopped behind another car. When the light turned green I lightly pressed the accelerator and nothing happened, it was like the engine failed to power up. I looked at the instruments and noticed the transmission was stuck in 8th-gear. Suddenly it rolled down to 1st gear and the vehicle literally leaped across the intersection. Fortunately the car in front had moved out normally or the "le…

Owner report 11460718 · 2022-04-14 (April 14, 2022)

This vehicle has a Powerboost Engine which is a Hybrid with a High-Voltage Battery Pack. This Battery Pack has a very sophisticated heating and cooling system which is part of the engine cooling system. A part of this cooling system is an Exhaust Heat Exchanger. It is Ford Part Number: ML3Z5A212W. This part is frequently failing causing a loss of coolant. This failure could cause engine failure and/or High Voltage Battery Pack failure.

Owner report 11483682 · 2022-09-09 (September 9, 2022)

This has happened twice to me. The latest was about 7 days ago. There was a loud popping and static sound when driving my vehicle so loud that I had to exit the truck and my neighbors came and asked if I was ok because it was so loud. I couldn't get it to stop by shutting things off. Talked to my sales guy and he suggested I disconnect the negative cable to the battery for 30 min or more, but there needs to be some sort of fix for this as it is a larger issue. It is undriveable when it happens and I likely would have crashed if I was on the h…

Owner report 11541222 · 2023-08-28 (August 28, 2023)

When turning on the radio, there was a very loud pop like a gunshot or firework going off in the cab followed by sustained white noise coming from the speaker system at full volume. The volume and radio buttons did not impact the volume of the sound requiring the driver to pull over, shut the vehicle off, and open the door in order to make the sound stop. The volume of the sound was loud enough that the driver was forced to release the steering wheel to plug their ears. Upon restart the vehicle produced the sound again.

Owner report 11589543 · 2024-05-19 (May 19, 2024)

Vehicle loss of power!! After turning occasionally I will only have enough power to remain at low low speed. Sometimes having to pull over to side of the road because I can’t gain speed and traffic is coming quickly. Problem lasts 30 seconds or more before it kicks in. Doesn’t matter if my foot is pressed to the floor there is no response.

Owner report 11599706 · 2024-07-07 (July 7, 2024)

Reduce power warning, instrument cluster is black, extremely loud pulse noise from radio that can not be turned off , catalytic converter issue ( ck engine light ) stalled in traffic. and horrible fuel mileage. Nothing resolved from the dealer.
