Owner report 10598745 · 2014-06-17 (June 17, 2014)

THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE NOW. GOING AT SLOW SPEED, SUCH AS 5 TO 10 MPH MAKING A TURN AND THE STEERING GOES OUT MAKING THE TRUCK DIFFICULT TO TURN. IT IS LIKE THE IGNITION SWITCHES OFF AND THEN 5 TO 10 SECONDS LATER THE SWITCH COMES BACK ON. VERY SCARY WHEN THIS OCCURS! *TR

WHEN MAKING A TURN AT LOW SPEED, THE POWER STEERING GOES OFF. IT IS THEN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THEY SAID IT WAS PUTTING OUT 1150 PSI AND IT SHOULD BE 1700-1800 PSI. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY. I WILL TAKE BACK TO DEALER. *TR

Owner report 11516029 · 2023-04-07 (April 7, 2023)

The Transmission Control Module failed causing the vehicle to loose power and operate only in "limp mode". General Motors does not have a replacement module available, leaving the vehicle inoperable. GM has no reliable information as to when a module will be available. I had to use a third party service to try and repair the module for a cost of over $1,200. This seems to be a common problem with the 2008-20015 GM Duramax with the Allison transmission.

The transmission control module went out on my Chevy duaramax. GM is aware of this problem in the years of 2009-2015 and has yet to fix the problem.

Owner report 10873931 · 2016-06-13 (June 13, 2016)

I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY ROAD WHEN MY VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOST POWER, I RECEIVED A WARNING FROM MY DASHBOARD SAYING FUEL FILTER NEEDS REPLACING AND SUBSEQUENTLY LOST ENGINE POWER WHICH RESULTED IN NO POWER STEERING AND NO BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL AND GOT IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE IT BECAME DEAD. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A GARAGE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CP4 FUEL INJECTION PUMP HAD FAILED RESULTING IN FUEL BEING STARVED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE RESULT WAS THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF. THE REPAIRS ALONE …
