The contact was the mechanic working on a 1989 Chevrolet G30. The contact stated that upon inspection, the vehicle was leaking transmission and power steering fluids, and had a separation halfway through the serpentine belt. Additionally, the brake pedal went to the floorboard when depressed. The contact diagnosed the vehicle with air in the brake lines and power steering failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 356,448.

WHEN I WAS IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT IN OCTOBER 1999 THE AIRBAG DIDN'T WORK IN THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING. ANOTHER VEHICLE STRUCK ME FROM BEHIND AND PUSHED ME INTO THE VEHICLE AHEAD. THE AIRBAG DID NOT WORK BECAUSE MY HEAD STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL VERY HARD.IT LEFT ME BLEEDING IN MY BRAIN.

1997 CHEVROLET VAN STALLS WHEN IDLING OR DRIVING. ACTS AS IF FUEL SYSTEM SHUTS OFF - THERE IS NO WARNING OR UNUSUAL NOISE. AFTER STALLING, WILL NOT START IMMEDIATELY. BUT, WILL START IF ALLOWED TO COOL 5-30 MINUTES. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED 6 TIMES BETWEEN MARCH 2001 AND JULY 3, 2001 -- FOUR TIMES WHILE IDLING, ONCE WHILE ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, AND ONCE ON A US HIGHWAY. HAVE TAKEN TO 3 DIFFERENT CHEVY DEALERS, BUT NONE HAVE FOUND ANY PROBLEM -- THERE ARE NO COMPUTER ERROR CODES OR OTHER SYMPTOMS THAT CAN BE FOUND BY DEALERS. ONE DEALER REPLACED FUE…

WHILE DRIVING ON BACK ROAD LOST STEERING POWER. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP & WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC THAT STEERING PUMP HAD BLOWN. ALSO, VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TWICE DUE TO ALTERNATOR HAVING TO BE REPLACED FOR NOT STARTING. IN ADDITION, BATTERY WAS REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE CHARGE ALTERNATOR. *AK
