Owner report 10139710 · 2005-11-02 (November 2, 2005)
WITH NO WARNING I LOST ALL STEERING. IT FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL HAD COME OFF THE SHAFT AS THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THERE WAS TRAFFIC IN FRONT, BEHIND AND ON MY RIGHT WITH A CONCRETE BARRIER TO THE RIGHT OF THE SLOW LANE, AND BRIDGE SUPPORTS TO MY LEFT. LUCKILY I WAS ON A STRAIGHT SECTION OF ROAD AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT CROWN TO THE ROAD. I LITERALLY LEANED LEFT WHEN I CLEARED THE BRIDGE AND THE CAR STARTED TO THE MEDIAN. WHEN MY FRONT TIRES REACHED THE GRAVEL SHOULDER I HIT THE BRAKES AND SKIDDED TO A STOP IN THE MEDIAN SHORT OF ONCOMING T…

MY GAS TANK WAS 1/4 FULL WHEN I DECIDED TO TOP IT OFF. AFTER FILLING MY GAS TANK AND PUTTING MY VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE FOR THE NIGHT I WENT OUT HOURS LATER TO FIND A PUDDLE BELOW WHERE THE GAS DOOR IS. IT WAS DRIPPING ABOUT EVERY 5 SECONDS AND THE GARAGE SMELLED OF GAS. I PUT A PLASTIC BOWL UNDER WHERE IT WAS LEAKING AND RAISED THE GARAGE DOOR UP TO LET SOME OF THE GAS SMELL OUT. THE NEXT MORNING I DISCOVERED THE DRIPPING HAD STOPPED. WHAT WOULD BE THE PROBLEM OF WHY IT WOULD DRIP FOR A WHILE AND THEN STOP? THE CAR WAS STATIONARY ALL THE TIME O…

Engine running fine when initially starts but after it warms up then starts missing , backfiring and stalls continuously. Car is a 1993 Corvette LT 1 engine with only 1,3000 miles. as told it is the OptiSpark that is bad which is part of the distributor. This car is a 40th Anniv car and is a collector car that GM manufactured with questionable engine components that go bad not from wear as in this case of only 13,000 miles but being made with poor components that should be recalled ,
