WHILE DOWNSHIFTING, THE SHIFTER LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT. I PULLED THE CLUTCH LEVER IN AND TRIED TO DOWN SHIFT AGAIN. THE SHIFTER MOVED DOWNWARD BUT THEIR WAS A LOUD BANG THAT SOUNDED LIKE METAL PIECES SHATTERING. I HAD TO PUT MY MOTORCYCLE ON A TRAILER TO GET IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DISASSEMBLED THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION TO FIND #4 GEAR WAS MISSING TEETH. THEY INFORMED ME THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED BECAUSE THE VICTORY TRANSMISSION USED CONSTANT MESHED GEARS, THE GEARS NEVER SEPERATE AND REMESH.THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT I WAS…

The contact owns a 2016 Victory Cross Country Tour Motorcycle. The contact stated that while riding approximately 35 MPH, the motorcycle experienced transmission failure, causing the motorcycle to abruptly stop in the middle of the roadway. The motorcycle was inoperable and was later towed to the local service center. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 55,000.
