Owner report 11588198 · 2024-05-10 (May 10, 2024)

I was at a light with the car on and in drive. The light turned green and I pressed on the gas and the vehicle was unresponsive. I confirmed that the vehicle was turned on and actively in drive -- but when I pressed on the gas to accelerate, it wouldn't move. I had to turn the car off and on again for it to restart. I was in traffic with people behind me, unable to control my vehicle. And my child was in the car.

Owner report 11588834 · 2024-05-15 (May 15, 2024)

My 2024 S AWD VW Taos has a serious lag when I need to speed up fast. The car does not go at all if I try to accelerate quickly and has almost caused many accidents. I have needed to quickly get out of the way of other drivers who were not paying attention and tried to accelerate quickly only to have my car not go anywhere. I am afraid to let my children drive this vehicle or even ride with me due to the fact that i cant count on it to work when i need to drive defensively.

Owner report 11588959 · 2024-05-15 (May 15, 2024)

I am writing to bring to your urgent attention a troubling issue I've encountered with my recently leased 2024 VW Taos, which I obtained in March 2024. This vehicle was meant to be a birthday gift to myself, a gesture of personal and professional advancement as I pursue my career as a home inspector. However, since the day I drove off the lot, I have been faced with a persistent and potentially hazardous problem: the CarPlay Apple Play GPS system has been malfunctioning, redirecting with every single use. I took immediate action by returning t…

I pulled out of my neighborhood onto a freeway and tried to accelerate. The vehicle would not accelerate past 33mph despite continually pressing the gas. The ESC light briefly came on and eventually turned off, and eventually the car started to accelerate again.

Malfunction: Acceleration failure from a full stop. on [XXX], with approx 300 miles on the vehicle, I needed to pull onto the two lanes going my direction on right. On my left was a wide curve blinded by large full trees on [XXX] in Delaware with traffic running 55-65ish. It was a doable look-twice then hustle situation. Waited for traffic to clear, nothing in sight, pulled out fuller throttle but it crawled...immediately I went full throttle with no effect as it continued to steadily crawl for several long seconds until turbo activated. …
