I’ve only had the vehicle about a month with only 1245 miles on it. I was leaving a parking lot and pulled out on the road and the vehicle shifted in neutral after a minute or so the vehicle then slammed back into gear. It did this 2 or 3 times. I pulled into a gas station turned the vehicle off and waited a few minutes. I turned the vehicle back on backed out and preceded to drive when the same issue happened again. The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part to repair the vehicle was not available. Brand new 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road automatic 2700 miles Truck is two weeks old The Toyota dealership called and reported that the entire transmission needed to replaced after being at the Toyota dealership for a week. Yes it is available for inspection. Toyota tech said that there are no spare transmissions in the U.S. and that it could take 3 months or longer to replace. The windshield has a visual defect which presents itself as diagonal lines in bright situations when a car or other object is in front of the vehicle. The diagonal lines will appear in high contrast situations during the day, or at night when an oncoming vehicle's lights are on.

Truck has an issue where certain safety systems are disabled when a trailer is detected. This is normal. However, the truck is failing to notice once a trailer has been disconnected and this keeps the safety features disabled during normal driving. Toyota has yet to address the issue. There are many people complaining online. Not safe and very disappointing.

While pulling out of my drive way I noticed when I pressed the gas pedal my truck barely moved, it felt like it was in neutral. I pressed the gas pedal further and it started to move but the RPMs were around 6000 RPM. I then pulled to the side of the road and tried shifting it into different modes, cycling through manual and automatic, but still nothing. Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra, 2024 4 Runner, Corolla, Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser Hybrid, Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid, 2023-2024 BZ4X, Corolla Cross Hybrid, GR Corolla, GR86, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, 2023-2025 Crown, and 2025 Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with GST accessories. The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequence: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2024. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 24R2.

Reported: 2025-02-06 (February 6, 2025)
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles. The rear brake hoses can be damaged if mud and dirt builds up inside the rear wheels. This can result in a brake fluid leak.
Consequence: A brake fluid leak can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace both rear brake hoses, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 1, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB04 and 25TA04.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and 4 Runner vehicles. Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.
Consequence: An instrument panel display that does not show critical information can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will update the instrument panel software over-the-air (OTA) for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Additional letters will be sent, anticipated in May 2026. This is a phased recall. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB08 and 25TA08. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB05 and 25LA05.

The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Reported: 2026-08-06 (August 6, 2026)
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Tacoma Hybrid and 2024-2025 Tacoma vehicles. The metal flange on the front and rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail, resulting in detachment of the external oil reservoir.
Consequence: An oil reservoir that detaches can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the front and rear shock absorber assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB14 and 26TA14.
