Owner report 11445851 · 2022-01-02 (January 2, 2022)

I got my Polestar 2 in November and just realized my 19" Michelin Primacy 4 tires are summer tires. I live in the Northeast US where the weather gets very cold and we get a lot of snow. I looked at my window sticker and it doesn't say anything about summer tires. I'm surprised that Polestar / Volvo negligently put summer tires on a NON-performance model and did not inform customers like me in snowy regions - this is very dangerous! Polestar really needs to either provide all season tires as standard in snowy regions or proactively inform custom…

Owner report 11448468 · 2022-01-22 (January 22, 2022)

The rear brake pads on Polestar 2s (P2) are susceptible to adhering to the rotors, causing a juddering noise from some of the pad breaking off and left stuck on the rotors. This appears to happen in wet climates, after its driven in the rain, after the wheels are cleaned with water, or stored in a humid space. Typical symptoms are: (a) the morning after the pads are exposed to water or excessive humidity, the brakes makes a loud THUD noise when initially moving it out of standstill; (b) it then proceeds with a low-pitched grinding noise coming …

Selt belt indicator light turns off after about a minute of sitting or a minute of driving even if the seatbelt is not buckled. There is a concern the system is turning off the indicator despite the fact that the driver side seat belt remains unbuckled. Also, that the airbag may not deploy as it's designed to because it is not accurately identify if a seat belt is buckled.

The car spontaneously loses contact with all wireless capabilities. This disables the keys from working to start/lock/unlock the car, breaks SOS/assist functionality, and disables all internet connectivity. The car has been to the dealership twice so far and they have been unable to fix the problem. They said that there is a software update that will be available 3/22 that will supposedly fix some of the problems. In the meantime they have acknowledged that nothing can be done in the service documentation.

Lane keeping assistance function consistently steers the vehicle onto freeway exits when used on the freeway. (note, this is in California with exits using CA's normal shoulder line markings) The steering onto the exit happens abruptly, with significant steering authority; rapid assertive driver intervention is required to maintain vehicle in lane. This behavior appeared after the vehicle completed an OTA update to software version P1.8.
