CONSUMER STATES THE WHEEL LEAKED AIR AND CAUSED THE TRAILER TIRES TO GO FLAT. IT DID NOT MATTER WHETHER THE TRAILER WAS SITTING OR MOVING, THE AIR CAME OUT. NANKANG TIRES, RADIAL, HT SUPER, LT 235 85R16. TIRES HAD APPROXIMATELY 8000-10000 MILES ON THEM. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT MANUFACTURER KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BUT REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *AK *JB

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH COUPLER OF THE TRAILER CAME OFF THE BALL, CAUSING THE TRAILER TO DETACH AND ROLL INTO A DITCH. *AK

1. HITCH CAME LOOSE FROM TOW VEHICLE. 2. WITH NO LOAD IN TRAILER BOTH SAFTY CHAINS FAILED. 3. BRAKE SWITCH CABLE FAILED PRIOR TO SETTING BRAKES. 4. TRAILER PASSED TOW VEHICLE ON ROAD AND HAD TO BE FORCED OFF ROAD. MAJOR DAMAGE TO TOW VEHICLE. 5. CONTACTED MFG. 4/15/04 (RODGER HEAD OF C/S) AND E-MAILED PHOTO'S OF DEFECTIVE AREAS. NO RESPOSE. CALLED AGAIN 5/06/04, NOT INTERESTED. 6. TRAILER IS RATED FOR 14,000 LBS AS WAS EMPTY AT TIME OF FAILURE.

NANKANG TIRES ARE DRY ROTTED. THERE ARE CRACKS IN THE TREAD AREA AND ALONG THE SIDES OF THE TIRES. THE TIRES ARE ON A 7 X 12 UTILITY TRAILER AND THE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 1,000 MILES ON THEM. I TELEPHONED TIRECO, INC. TO GET A PRO RATA REIMBURSEMENT. THEY SAID THE TIRES WERE OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY WERE PURCHASED WITH THE TRAILER IN APRIL OF 2003. *TR
