DT: DRIVESHAFT FELL OUT OF MOTOR HOME TWICE. CALLER SAID THE MOTOR HOME SHOOK BADLY BEFORE THE DRIVESHAFT FELL OUT. THERE A . RECALL 98V211000, WAS ISSUED ON THE DRIVSHAFT, BUT THIS MOTOR HOME WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FIRST TIME THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OUT WAS ON MAY 2, 2005. THEY HAD VEHICLE TOWED AND FIXED IT IN FLORIDA. THE SECOND TIME THE DRIVESHAFT FELL OUT WAS ON JULY 28, 2005. CURRENTLY, VEHICLE IS AT A RV SERVICE REPAIR SHOP. DEALER ADVISED OWNER TO CALL FORD. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTO PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. THE PARKING BRAKE FAILED THREE TIMES. DURING THE FIRST INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN 20MPH WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE LOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE SCENE. THE BRAKE WAS RELEASED ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME AND IT WAS LATER TOWED TO A LOCAL SERVICE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE AUTO PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. 00V086000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Exhaust System:Manifold/Header/Muffler/Tail Pipe

Reported: 2000-03-21 (March 21, 2000)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTOR HOMES. THE GENERATOR EXHAUST GASES CAN ACCUMULATE BENEATH THE SLIDE OUT PORTION OF THE MOTOR HOME AND CAN SEEP INTO THE VEHICLE INTERIOR.

Consequence: THIS SEEPAGE CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING TO PERSONS INSIDE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE GENERATOR EXHAUST PIPE WITH A NEW EXHAUST PIPE DESIGNED TO TERMINATE AT A LOCATION OTHER THAN UNDER THE EXTENDED SLIDE OUT ROOM.
