THE CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE AND THERE WERE NO OVERHEAD STREET LAMPS. NOTHING COULD BE SEEN BUT A GLARE FROM THE GUIDE LINES ON THE SCREEN. YOU CAN'T TELL IF YOU ARE BACKING UP ON GRASS OR PAVEMENT. YOU CAN NOT TELL IF THERE IS A MAIL BOX, SPRINKLER, DOG OR CHILD BEHIND YOUR CAR AT NIGHT. THE CAMERA WORKS BUT IS BLURRY DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. *TR

WHEN STOPPED ON AN UPHILL IN DRIVE, CAR ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN I STEP OFF THE BRAKE BEFORE I CAN STEP ON THE GAS. ON A STEEP HILL, REQUIRES COORDINATING KEEPING ONE FOOT ON BRAKE WHILE STEPPING ON GAS TO MOVE FORWARD. TESTED ON AN EMPTY HILL, CAR ROLLED BACK ALL THE WAY DOWN UNTIL I BRAKED. TEST DROVE WITH DEALER'S TECHNICIAN, HE SAID THIS WAS NORMAL OPERATION "FEATURE" OF THIS TRANSMISSION. IF SO, IS THIS WHAT I TELL THE CAR BEHIND ME ON THE HILL WHEN I ROLL INTO IT..OR THE CHILD WHO SCOOTS BEHIND ME TO CATCH THE SCHOOL BUS? DEFINITELY A …

I GOT THIS VEHICLE IN APRIL 2013 AND COMPLAINED 9 MONTHS LATER SOMETHING WRONG AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET MY HUSBAND AND I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING INSIDE THE TRUCK. WE BEGIN TO SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE CENTER CONSOLE AREA BETWEEN BOTH SEATS. I TOO WOULD LIKE TO STATE HOW BAD THE BACKUP CAMERA IS. THE VISIBILITY ON IT IS VERY POOR ON DARK RAINY DAYS AND IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT. THEREFORE, NOT GOOD VIEW MUCH OF THE TIME!!! I HAD THE OCCASION TO BE IN A HYUNDAI RENTAL CAR AND THEIR CAMERA IS AWESOME!!! IT WAS A PANORAMIC VIEW THAT WAS CLEAR ALL THE TIME. IT ALMOST LOOKED LIKE IT WAS AN HD VIEW. NISSAN YOU NEED TO STUDY HYUNDAI'S CAMERA AND MAKE YOURS OVER!!! THIS IS MY SECOND MURANO, 2010 & 2013, AND BOTH CAMERAS WERE BAD. OTHER THAN THIS, I LOVE MY VEHICLE AND THE ONE BEFORE!!!

Recall history
1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
17V184000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist:Hose, Piping, And Connections
Reported: 2017-03-16 (March 16, 2017)
Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2014 Murano and Murano Cross Cabriolet vehicles. The power steering hose clamp may not adequately secure the hose, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid.
Consequence: If the power steering fluid leaks onto a heat source such as hot engine or exhaust components, there could be an increased risk of a fire.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
