2024 Kia TELLURIDE: complaints, problems and recalls

While driving under normal conditions and with significant distance from another vehicle in front of me, a small rock/pebble hit the windshield of my vehicle, which caused a rock chip. The rock chip quickly "spidered" out and spread within a matter of an hour. 4 days after I bought the car brand new on an off ramp going about 30mph a car sent a pebble into my windshield. It made a chip and then a crack about 12” long. Called Kia dealership and they said they won’t repair because rock hit windshield. There is a class action lawsuit against Kia and their windshields cracking. Upon waiting for insurance and a new windshield 3 days later the crack has gotten bigger without driving. It is a hazard because glass could shatter and now the crack is disturbing visibility

Only had vehicle 2 weeks and a small debris (pebble or dirt) hit windshield only going around 30mph and windshield chipped. When trying to do windshield repair kit on chip, the chip turned into a long crack. I had seen class action lawsuits where telluride windshields were weak/defective and this still seems to be the case.

UNKNOWN - We have discovered a substantial amount of water coming up from the flooring behind the passenger seat under the second row of our 2024 KIA Telluride purchased 2 months ago. Took the dealership this morning and after 4 hours attempting to diagnose where the water was coming from, they were unsuccessful. WINOW SATIN TRIM - Rust spots showing on the satin trim around vehicle windows upon receipt of vehicle. Contacted original dealership that sold us the vehicle about the issue immediately, no assistance was given. Took the vehicle to another dealership this morning to notify them of the issue, have it officially documented, and request a warranty request be submitted. I was driving down the highway at 65mph and my 2024 Kia Telluride sunroof violently imploded. I pulled over thinking I was shot at by a gun, but there was no evidence that I was hit by something. Brand new 2024 Kia Telluride. Came outside this morning to see a nice crack across the drivers side of the windshield happen before my eyes when I turned on defrost and windshield wipers for the rain. Reported: 2024-02-07 (February 7, 2024)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2024 Telluride vehicles. The engine valve springs may break while driving, which can result in a loss of drive power and possibly create a hole in the engine block.

Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. A hole in the engine block increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine sub-assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 5, 2024. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC296.

Reported: 2024-03-20 (March 20, 2024)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles. The intermediate shaft and right front driveshaft may not be fully engaged, which can result in vehicle roll away while in PARK.

Consequence: A vehicle roll away increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Owners are advised to manually engage the emergency parking brake prior to exiting the vehicle until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will update the electronic parking brake software and replace any damaged intermediate shafts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2024. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC303.

Reported: 2024-06-05 (June 5, 2024)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles. The front power seat motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob, which can result in a fire while parked or driving.

Consequence: A fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a bracket for the power seat switch back covers and replace the seat slide knobs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 30, 2024. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC316.

Reported: 2025-07-28 (July 28, 2025)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Telluride vehicles. The door belt molding trim can delaminate and detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A detached trim piece can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the belt molding trim assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC347.

Reported: 2026-07-02 (July 2, 2026)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles. The front power seat motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob or an improper recall 24V407 repair, which can result in a fire while parked or driving.

Consequence: A fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install an electronic fuse assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 13, 2026. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC374. This recall replaces NHTSA recall number 24V407. Vehicles already repaired under the previous recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 17, 2026.
