2025 Kia TELLURIDE: complaints, problems and recalls

I bought my Kia Telluride on 10/25/2024. The windshield already has a long crack in the bottom going upwards. A chip will not normally extend the crack this quick after a purchase of a vehicle. Several others have reported the same from earlier Telluride models. This poses a driving risk especially at night with glare.

My 2025 Kia Teulluride that I bought on 10/21/2024 was sitting in my garage over night on 11/20/2024. The next morning 11/21/2024 I went to leave for work and notice a huge crack in the windshield. Goes from the driver side to about half way to the middle of the windshield

Issue: Engine stall & loud tapping/grinding noise Vehicle only has 1,100 miles and has stalled about 5 times when slowing down to about 10mph & then accelerating again. Issue has also happened when going about 3mph & then accelerating. About 10sec stall & then vehicle takes off. My vehicle has 300 miles on it and I owned it for 5 days. I was driving when the front sunroof glass exploded and blew glass up and out of the vehicle. It scratched my roof, panoramic glass and multiple other panels. Kia of Chattanooga was very unprofessional when I brought this to their attention. The sales manager, Kevin Williams, told me my claim with Kia was denied before I had even reported a claim to Kia. I just recently bought a 2025 Kia Telluride. Within two weeks the windshield has cracked. It appears to be a chip but it seemed to happen while sitting in the driveway. Kia says it is not covered u see the warranty. With all of the issues I have read about Kia’s windshields cracking, I am afraid they have not fixed the issue.

The contact owns a 2025 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving approximately 61-62 MPH, the sunroof exploded without impact. There was no injury sustained. There was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. The local dealer was contacted, who confirmed there was no coverage for the sunroof glass. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 5,899.

After diving in the snow my 2025 Telluride was parked in the garage overnight. Next morning I observed a crack in the windshield running from bottom of passenger side to middle of the windscreen. Upon inspection saw a small chip on the windshield. A chip would not cause the crack to extend to the middle of the windshield. These windshields are made very poorly, can crack and break with minor road debris that other brands windshields can handle easily. Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Telluride vehicles. The door belt molding trim can delaminate and detach from the vehicle.

Consequence: A detached trim piece can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the belt molding trim assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2025. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC347.

Reported: 2025-10-30 (October 30, 2025)

Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2025 Telluride and 2026 Sorento vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with an incorrect spare tire which, when installed, can impair the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the traction control system (TCS). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: Anti-lock braking or traction control systems that do not function properly can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the spare wheel and tire assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 3, 2025. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC355. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 13, 2025.

Reported: 2026-02-23 (February 23, 2026)

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2025 Telluride vehicles, equipped with power front seat(s). Due to a manufacturing error, the driver and passenger seat back frame assemblies may fail to properly restrain occupants in a crash.

Consequence: A seat back frame that fails to properly restrain an occupant during a crash increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the front seat back frame assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning April 24, 2026. Owners may contact Kia Customer Service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC362.
