TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 ISUZU NPR TRUCK. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE FAN SHROUD RING IN THE MOTOR BROKE AND BECAME CAUGHT WITHIN THE MOTOR FAN CAUSING IT TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS STATED THE FAILURE WAS NOT RECALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILES WERE 158,000. UPDATED 08/31/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR. UPDATED 11/18/11

98V151001 · Steering:Gear Box (Other Than Rack And Pinion)

Reported: 1998-07-06 (July 6, 1998)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRUCK CHASSIS. THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT-TO-STEERING BOLT WAS NOT TIGHTENED PROPERLY DURING ASSEMBLY. THIS CAN CAUSE STEERING NOISE, LOOSE STEERING, AND AN UNCENTERED STEERING WHEEL.

Consequence: LOSS OF STEERING COULD RESULT.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE STEERING SHAFT AND RETIGHTEN TO THE SPECIFIED TORQUE.
