The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V583000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, but the motorcycle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. I own a 2025 Honda Africa Twin 1100 DCT with approximately 7,300 miles. The rear brake pads became completely worn down to the metal pad-wear indicator clips. The rear brake caliper was pushing the brake pads into the brake rotor/disc, resulting in severe metal-on-metal grinding and extremely loud brake squealing. The issue occurred approximately one and a half weeks ago. I own a 2025 Honda Africa Twin 1100 DCT with approximately 7,300 miles. The rear brake pads became completely worn down to the metal pad-wear indicator clips. I own a 2025 Honda Africa Twin 1100 DCT with approximately 7,300 miles. The rear brake pads became completely worn down to the metal pad-wear indicator clips. According to maintenance personnel at MotorWorld in El Cajon, CA, the root cause was the rear brake caliper failing to retract to its original position after braking. This caused the pads to remain pressed against the rotor while riding, continuously wearing down the pads and rotor. Reported: 2024-11-21 (November 21, 2024)
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2022 and 2024-2025 CRF1100 Africa Twin motorcycles. A software error in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) may cause an engine stall or a loss of power when the Wheelie Control feature is activated.
Consequence: An engine stall or loss of power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 15, 2025. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KR1.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 XL750, 2025 CMX1100, and CRF1100 motorcycles. The crankcase sealing bolt may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause the engine to leak oil onto the rear tire.
Consequence: Oil on the rear tire may cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the crankcase sealing bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KS2.

Reported: 2025-09-05 (September 5, 2025)
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2020-2022 and 2024-2025 CRF1100 Africa Twin motorcycles. The left handlebar switch harness may corrode due to oxidation, resulting in the loss of horn function or the ability to switch the headlight from low beam to high beam. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: The inability to use the horn or switch the headlight from low beam to high beam can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the left handlebar switch assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 20, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KS8. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 12, 2025.
