Owner report 11613262 · 2024-09-07 (September 7, 2024)

1 Adaptive cruise stopped me several times for no reason as there was nothing on the interstate and the weather was clear. This was very jarring at 80 miles per hour on the interstate created a hazardous and dangerous driving condition as cars were all around, almost was rear-ended. 1a Adaptive cruise started all the sudden when I was stopped at an intersection almost caused a wreck, as soon as I took my foot off the break it speed up, but I was able to veer off and break several more times. The adaptive cruise should automatically go off when…

Owner report 11636730 · 2025-01-18 (January 18, 2025)

On November 13, 2024 I was operating my vehicle at approximately 55 miles per hour when it suddenly experienced complete engine failure. The incident occured at 10 o'clock at night, and the loss of power resulted in the immediate shutdown of all vehicle systems, including headlights. Due to the unexpected nature of the failure, I was unable to bring the vehicle to an immediate stop. Fortunately, my three children and I escaped the incident without injury. The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and I was able to assess the situation and contact…

Owner report 11636879 · 2025-01-19 (January 19, 2025)

Was driving on highway when the engine started to labor. Without notice the car flipped into neutral. Obviously this was very dangerous going from acceleration to no engine power. I barely made it to the side of the highway by crossing two lanes to get there. When on the side of the road the car went into park and was unable to move to any other modes. Not even neutral. Again very lucky to have gotten off on the shoulder. Once the car came to a stop we were stuck for good. Had to get towed 60 miles or the nearest dealership with my wife and two…

Owner report 11637189 · 2025-01-20 (January 20, 2025)

Was driving on the interstate when the engine stopped running. My screens went off and came on saying to press the start button to turn on as my car is still moving. Once pulled over couldn’t get the car to turn off or shift out of park. Engine never started since then. Mechanics looking at the Yukon have verified that my engine did seize up. My car is less than a year old.

2024 Yukon AT4 14,214 miles. I heard a metal dropping sound that morning but otherwise it acted fine. I thought something fell in the vehicle but nothing was there. No lights came on. Then later that day it just died at a light in town. Suddenly received low oil pressure warning and vehicle shutting off. Happened out of no where. Was able to start it and get off out of middle of road. It continued to die over and over and then finally wouldn’t start again. Towed to dealership. Dealership able to start it once there but stated check engine light…

Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

24V674000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist:Electric:Control Module:Software | Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Brake Fluid Low Warning: Lamp

Reported: 2024-09-12 (September 12, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles. The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Consequence: Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The Electronic Brake Control Module (eBCM) software will be updated through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N242447990.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.

Consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N252494000.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021 Cadillac Escalade, 2021, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2022 and 2024 GMC Yukon vehicles equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine. The original fuel tank may have been replaced with an incorrect fuel tank, which can allow fuel to leak in a rollover crash.

Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
