Owner report 11569113 · 2024-01-31 (January 31, 2024)
The driver's side floor mat will not stay in place because the device that is supposed to hold it in place is broken. The floor mat is now able to move forward and interfere with the function of the brake and/or accelerator. Both the dealership (Castle Rock GMC, Colorado) and GMC Customer Care (Case #: 91-11325687695) have ignored all requests to address this and other issues. I have also written letters to GMC Corporate and the Castle Rock GMC General Manager, both of which were also ignored.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while reversing in a rural area, the back-over prevention camera failed to display an image. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who stated the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact independently added lights to the rear of the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V709000 (Back Over Prevention) as a possible solution however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notif…

Purchased 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro 2/28/2024 with 6 miles on it. Drove vehicle home (20 miles). Picked up and dropped off Grand Daughter from school. Proceeded to my Mom's house and took her for a ride then came home. Next afternoon went to take out garbage and noticed puddle by passenger rear tire. Got under truck and found shock to be completely wet. Called Dealer and made appointment to bring truck in next morning. Brought truck in next day and Dealer confirmed that shock was blown. Shock is not in stock but was ordered. Currently waiting fo…

The infotainment systems audio while driving decreases so much that you have to increase the volume to hear it and then will randomly increase to the correct volume level without warning and then decrease again.

Owner report 11578846 · 2024-03-22 (March 22, 2024)
Component or system failure: Complete failure of the headlights and interior lighting, including the dashboard after post remote start - ignition on. Safety risk: Headlights and other interior lighting would not activate leaving the vehicle completely dark. The only remedy was to completely restart the vehicle. Reproduced?: No. The vehicle is brand new with less than 100 miles. Inspected?: No warning messages: there were unpresented in the DIC. However, the vehicle also would not shift from drive.

Owner report 11581039 · 2024-04-03 (April 3, 2024)
The tailgate unlatched while driving. This caused the paint on the tailgate to rub off on the jack of the trailer that I was hauling. This could have caused items in the back of the pickup to fall out onto the road. There is a current recall for 2021-2023 GMC Sierra's with the same issue, but my 2024 GMC Sierra is not included in the recall. The vehicle is going to be inspected tomorrow by the a body shop. There were no lights or messages prior to the failure.

Owner report 11582878 · 2024-04-14 (April 14, 2024)
The amber light for being to close to another vehicle in front of you does not come on in the dash in my case less than half a truck length ahead. It does not have any sensors on front or rear because Dealer said it was because of lack of chips. There must be someway to adjust this for further notification then a half a truck length.

Reported: 2025-04-24 (April 24, 2025)
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine. Consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N252494000.
