I was driving my vehicle, with my 9-year-old son in the back, when it seemed to completely lose power and shut down (while I was driving!). The power steering, brakes, and gas all gave out. I was able to steer myself toward the side of the road where I waited for a tow. The vehicle would not start, nor would it shift into neutral, which led to towing challenges. Called multiple dealerships and found out there is a known problem with the valve body for the transmission in these vehicles, which mine is currently being towed today to the dealer. This is what happened to me today, I was driving with my two children on the interstate and all of a sudden I had no drive nothing so the speed reduced quickly. Well behind me there was a 18 wheeler on my back and almost ran into me because I had no more drive on my pickup. On December 25, 2024, my vehicle completely stalled in the middle of the highway while travelling at 65 mph. Fortunately there were no vehicles travelling in close proximity to me at the time as my speed rapidly decreased. The abrupt stall required me to pull over to the side of the road to attempt to restart. I was unable to restart the vehicle despite numerous attempts. Jump starting was also unsuccessful. The driver's side floor mat will not stay in place because the device that is supposed to hold it in place is broken. The floor mat is now able to move forward and interfere with the function of the brake and/or accelerator. Both the dealership (Castle Rock GMC, Colorado) and GMC Customer Care (Case #: 91-11325687695) have ignored all requests to address this and other issues. I have also written letters to GMC Corporate and the Castle Rock GMC General Manager, both of which were also ignored.

To Whom It May Concern, This is a brand new 2024 GMC Sierra AT4 Diesel Truck with 4,000 miles. The first incident occurred when I was doing about 5 mph. The truck maintained its speed without my foot on the gas pedal and the cruise control was not on. Then when I tapped the gas pedal, everything return to normal. The DIC randomly displays “check trailer wiring” then says “brakes connected” over and over. When this happens the brakes on the trailer quit working, all lights continue to work all the time. It hasn’t been back to the dealer yet but I will take it when I can. Other vehicles have no issues with this trailers brakes when towing. I have replaced the trailer pig tail 7 pin plug, cleaned all connections etc. The only thing that works so far is to disconnect one of 4 electric brakes then the DIC is silent and 3 brakes function. The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel went dark, and the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact immediately drove to the dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed. The dealer retrieved a DTC code for power steering failure. My wife and I were traveling on a county road and without warning, the vehicle skipped twice and cut off in the middle of the roadway in a sharp curve with rain threatening at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET August 11, 2025.
