Owner report 10010105 · 2003-03-07 (March 7, 2003)

WE OWN THREE 1999 GMC 1500 C PICKUPS. EACH OF THESE VEHICLES HAS EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE OF THE UNDER DASH ABS ELECTRONIC MODULES WHEN THE VEHICLES REACHED APPROXIMATELY 85,000 MILES OR SO. WE CONTACTED GMC TO PLACE A COMPLIANT. THE REPAIR CHARGES FOR THIS PROBLEM HAVE RANGED FROM $800 TO $1050 EACH. GMC REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM OR TO REIMBURSE FOR ANY REPAIR COSTS FOR THEIR OBVIOUS DEFECTIVE PARTS. FAILURE OF THE ABS MODULE STILL ALLOWS FOR USE OF THE BRAKES BUT FAILURE OF THE ABS SYSTEM WHICH COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTS. *JB

I CALLED MICHAEL GMC, 3700 S CARSON, CARSON CITY NV TO HAVE A STICKY ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON MY 1999 GMC SIERRA PU REPAIRED. I STATED I KNEW OF A TSB ISSUED FOR THIS DEFECT. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO TSB. I CHECKED VIA THE INTERNET AND FOUND TSB #00-06-04-007A HAD BEEN ISSUED IN JUN 00. I HAVE FOUND A GM DEALER WHO WILL REPAIR THIS FOR ME. BUT I THINK THAT HOHL SHOULD NOT HAVE REFUSED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM UNDER THE TSB. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURS TO HOHL FOR MISLEADING ME?*AK

Owner report 10257463 · 2009-02-04 (February 4, 2009)

VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR ANTI-LOCK BRAKE DEFECT AND REPAIRED AT LOCAL DEALER ON 1/19/06. STARING ABOUT 1/1/09 THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. ANTI-LOCK WOULD ACTIVATE DURING NORMAL STOP ON DRY PAVEMENT. THIS HAPPENS ON EVERY STOP AND ACTIVATES AROUND 5 MPH. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY FIXED IT ONCE AND ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FIX IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND THEY MADE THE SAME REPAIR THAT WAS MADE WITH THE RECALL. *TR
