Check manual light with orange wrench popped up. I checked my Ford Pass app and it said there was a high voltage fault. To contact a dealer immediately. But I can't even put it in neutral for a tow truck because the transmission is locked in some sort of safe mode. I think it is a part of the recall with high voltage battery failures.

The rear hatch opens by itself. The gas door does the same thing. Keller Bros. Ford has had the car twice for a few days and can’t find the problem.

On November 12, 2022 at approximately 1:00 p.m. an incident occurred with my 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid in Columbia, MO. As I was parking in the Forum Theater parking lot, the engine surged and I had no brakes. I was at a dead stop and when I released the brake to move into a parking slot, the engine surged abruptly. When I applied the brakes, the pedal went clear to the floor with no braking occurring. I absolutely did not hit the wrong peddle causing this surging of power. Since purchase, the car has made a loud squealing noise when applying brakes in reverse. Seems to take longer to come to a stop at times when applying brakes but other times jerks to a stop.

The right rear brake area screeches loudly when I back up, even if I am not applying the brake. It happens at different times of the day, not just when I start the car. I have taken it in to be repaired twice and they tell me this is normal because the brakes charge the battery and this is the design. They said it happens when the brakes are wet in the morning. I bought this car in June 2022 brand new. This morning I received an alert on my phone from Ford saying that my car is in "Deep Sleep" mode to conserve battery energy and my remote features including start/stop and lock/unlock. I went to my car and I could not get into my car and it did not start. When I contacted the dealership, Vista Ford in Woodland Hills, CA, they informed me that this is a feature on the car, and that if the car is not driven within 48 hours, the car will go into Deep Sleep. Both rear tires have broken belts at 26,700 miles. I have the tires if want to inspect. Dealer confirmed they are bad - takes no responsibility for warranty. I just had vehicle at dealer to fix under warranty rear brakes. Did not notice problem at that time. no warning lamps. Noticeable from increased noise level when driving. I have no idea why they should have failed. I suspect a manufacturing defect.
