POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM FAILED. STEERING ALL BUT LOCKED UP. LUCKILY WE WERE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. IF WE WERE ON A CURVED ROAD, WE MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT, BECAUSE WE COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE IS A RECALL ON COUNTRY COACH MOTORHOMES 2006-2008 AFFINITY AND MAGNA MODELS, FOR THIS EXACT POWER ASSIST STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM. MY 2006 INSPIRE 360 HAS THE EXACT SAME CHASSIS AND POWER ASSIST SYSTEM AS THE THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. WE HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE AT REPAIR SHOP ABOUT 1000 MILES FROM HOME, FOR…

I RECENTLY SUBMITTED AN ON LINE FORM ABOUT A VEHICLE I HAVE THAT HAD A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL BUT IT ISN'T. I RECEIVED AN ANSWER THAT JUST REFERRED ME TO A HOT LINE NUMBER TO CALL. SINCE I AM HEARING IMPAIRED, THE PHONE DOES NOT WORK FOR ME, DO YOU HAVE AN ADDRESS WHERE I CAN SEND A LETTER WITH ALL MY DETAILS? I WOULD APPRECIATE AN ADDRESS THAT I CAN WRITE A LETTER TO. THANK YOU. THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER STEERING FAILED SUDDENLY WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING. THE RV WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE COST TO …

Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

07V241000 · Exterior Lighting

Reported: 2007-06-14 (June 14, 2007)

CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE SIDE MARKER LIGHTS IN THE COMBINATION HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES DO NOT MEET THE MINIMUM PHOTOMETRIC VALUE AND 45 DEGREES AS SPECIFIED IN THE STANDARD.

Consequence: THE INADEQUACY OF THE FRONT AND REAR SIDE MARKER LIGHTS COULD AFFECT VISIBILITY OF THE MOTOR HOME DURING HOURS OF DARKNESS THAT COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN A MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE MARKER LIGHTS ON THE SIDE AS CLOSE AS REASONABLE TO THE FRONT AND REAR CORNERS AND WIRED INTO THE PARK LIGHT SYSTEM FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 19, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT COUNTRY COACH AT 1-800-547-8015.
