2024 Chrysler PACIFICA: complaints, problems and recalls

On a brand new vehicle with less than a few hundred miles, the electronic parking brake engaged and would not disengage until the battery was disconnected. This left an error code and the dealership replaced brake actuator. Then, the SafeHold feature started to randomly activate when vehicle started to move from a stop light or stop sign. We were rear ended on the highway, the driver seat broke a part came off and the back of the seat went back instead of staying upright. I’m not sure where the vehicle is after we released it to the insurance company on 09-11-24 The driver has back pain and the back of the seat didn’t stay where it should have. I’m not sure we haven’t talked to the dealership just a mechanic. The insurance company had an adjuster look at it and deemed it a total loss. No there was no warnings or any.

Adaptive cruise control slammed on brakes at least five times when nothing there in front or on the sides. First time I ended up with whiplash…now I hear it start to stop and I override system by speeding up. It also sometimes gets so close to car in front without braking so I have to manually brake. I’m concerned about being rear-ended if it slams on brakes for no reason. Five times there were no deer, people, etc.

The contact owns a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the braking system erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. The failure had occurred on several occasions while driving on the same highway. The vehicle was purchased on 1/8/2025. On 1/13/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer because the transmission wouldn't shift to park. Dealer performed a software update to correct the issue. On 1/21/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to a dealer because the transmission wouldn't shift to park. Dealer replaced the gear selector. On 1/27/2025, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer because it wouldn't shift to park. Dealer stated the battery failed. 1st time: I was exiting my driveway and dash presented with no torque and a picture of a turtle came up saying power issues. Running on hybrid engine at this time. Pushed down on gas and no power. I turned van off waited a few minutes, restarted, gas engine came on along with the engine light on dashboard. I was able to return van to the garage. Came in and called the dealership. Took car to dealership next day and they plugged it into the computer to check. They returned the van to me saying they gave it a reset and said I should be OK…

The vehicle, without warning, flashed the message “Stop Safely, Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon” and suddenly went totally unresponsive. It had shut down within 60 seconds. This was on day 4 of ownership and less than 1000 miles on the vehicle. We were unable to restart, shift, or get the vehicle to respond in any way. Upon reading further, this is the exact issue that over 67,000 of these models were recalled for in years 2017-2023 with transmission replacement as the required repair.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles. The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024 through June 20, 2024. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The windshield may not have been properly bonded to the vehicle, allowing it to detach during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 212, "Windshield Mounting."

Consequence: A windshield that detaches from the vehicle during a crash can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the windshield, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2024. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 25B.

Reported: 2024-03-28 (March 28, 2024)

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The traction control system (TCS) does not function when cruise control is activated.

Consequence: An inactive traction control system can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the TCS software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 22B.

Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2024 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The seat limiter may not have been installed, allowing the seat to move too far forward. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Consequence: A seat positioned too close to the air bag can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and install a seat limiter as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2024. Owners may contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.

Reported: 2025-05-08 (May 8, 2025)

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bags may have insufficient pressure retention from improperly sealed seams. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Consequence: An air bag with insufficient pressure retention increases the risk of ejection and injury during a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the side curtain air bags, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning October 14, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are 06C, 54C, 55C. This recall is replaced by NHTSA recall number 26V189. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed.

Reported: 2025-07-17 (July 17, 2025)

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles. The vehicles were built with an incorrect radio, which can cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers replaced the radio, free of charge. All affected vehicles have been repaired. Owner notification letters were mailed August 7, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 57C.

Rollx Vans (Rollx) is recalling certain GMC Yukon, Sierra, Chevrolet Express 2500, Ford Transit, E-250, Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Voyager, Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. Please refer to Rollx's recall report for specific model year information. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Rollx will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2026. Owners may contact Rollx's customer service at 1-800-956-6668.

Vantage Mobility, LLC (VM) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Honda Odyssey, 2021-2025 Chrysler Pacifica, and Toyota Sienna vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters was mailed January 27, 2026. Owners may contact Vantage Mobility customer service at 1-800-488-9082.

Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Braun will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 16, 2026. Owners may contact Braun's customer service at 1-800-488-0359 or Q'Straint's customer service at 1-800-987-9987.

Reported: 2026-06-02 (June 2, 2026)

Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The spring inside the front seat harness connector may contact electrical terminals.

Consequence: The unintended connection may prevent the air bags from deploying, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
