MY 2001 CHEVROLET C1500 SILVERADO IS TWO YEARS OLD AND DUE IT'S FIRST STATE INSPECTION. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT PASS BECAUSE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT STOP THE TRUCK, EVEN SITTING STILL AT IDLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS NEVER BEEN USED, BUT BOTH EMERGENCY BRAKE SHOES WERE WORN OUT AND ONE ROTOR/DRUM WAS RUINED. *AK

CHEVROLET HAS A DEFECTIVE CLIP THAT IS ON THIER EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AND THEY KNOW THIS BUT ARE NOT DOING A RECALL TO TRY AND SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY STILL ARE NOT ACCEPTING FAULT AND ARE MAKING THE CONSUMER PAY FOR THIER MISTAKE. AFTER REPEATED PHONE CALLS TO THEM I DID GET THEM TO AGREE TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE FIX ON MY 1/2 TON PICK-UP. MY QUESTION IS WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM? IT IS NOT SO MUCH THE MONEY I HAD TO PUT OUT OF POCKET BUT THE FACT THEY KNOW THERE …
