Owner report 11487740 · 2022-10-03 (October 3, 2022)

When the car was put in Reverse Gear, the car was still moving forward and not moving backwards. I tried it multiple times, but it was still moving forward. There was a car in front of my car and since the car was expected to go backwards, this issue put the safety at risk as I could hit the car in front. This issue does not happen every time I do reverse. I bought the car on 1st October and notice the issue on 2nd October 2022.

Owner report 11495587 · 2022-12-01 (December 1, 2022)

The rear camera is not working properly. Rear camera is necessary for the driver to help prevent hitting unseen subject behind the car. Let say if there is a 2 years old kid playing in the back of my car, I wouldn't see the kid. I brought the car to the dealership for the 3rd time to get it fixed. But it seems like the problem still occurs. The issue first appeared in after a month of purchase (with about 600 miles on it)

Owner report 11497201 · 2022-12-13 (December 13, 2022)

My wife was backing at less than 2 and hit a truck behind her. She said no alarms sounded, the only thing she heard was noise of hitting a truck behind her. No police called or report made. When car was repaired the repair shop (Fields Collision, Jacksonville FL) they took my 2023 Cadillac to Fields Cadillac for final check out. Fields Cadillac said there were no sensors in rear bumper to alert driver. Fields Cadillac said there is only plugs in rear bumper. I contacted the dealership (DIMMITT Cadillac in Clearwater) where I purchased the …

Owner report 11503645 · 2023-01-25 (January 25, 2023)

During a drive at about 40 MPH down a straight, dry two-lane, something went wrong and it decided to encourage me to drive into the ditch, steering me directly off the road. It was consistent, and when I found a stretch with a wide shoulder to see what would happen, it took me unerringly to the right, onto the dirt. For me, it was unnerving and distracting, but I could only imagine what would have happened to an elderly driver with a loose grip on the wheel.

Owner report 11507042 · 2023-02-13 (February 13, 2023)

I have a Cadillac 2023 XT6 When I put the car in reverse in the daytime the Back up camera display works fine. If it is at night,Raining, or during any hours of the day like in a garage the display dims .It is hard to see a person behind you or any poles. When shifting into Reverse, it is bright then it goes dim. I brought it in to the dealer and they gave me a Chevy loaner and that works great and my last car worked great. The dealer checked everything, Ans I was told "it is working to spec" although they see an issue that they can't fix.

Owner report 11511198 · 2023-03-10 (March 10, 2023)

I purchased a 2023 Cadillac XT6 .the issue is when I SHIFT into reverse at night the back up camera get very dim and it is very hard to see anything thru the rear display. Cadillac say's it is working as designed. .They are correct. I tried this on other Cadillac XT6 car and same issue. There is a safety issue it is VERY dim. I tried a Buick,, and Chevy and they both worked great I could see at night in a dim Garage .All ALL they say is "it is working as designed". This answer does not fix a safety issue that is required to work in ALL cars. I…

Owner report 11528343 · 2023-06-22 (June 22, 2023)

My lift gate would open by itself when I put the car in park. It would also open overnight while parked in the garage. When I discovered it open, the battery had ran down. Opening while in park happened about 6 times.

I bought cadillac XT6 four months ago . Last week i noticed that car steering lock when turning right on highway over 25mph. I went to the empire cadillac of long island city (NY). Mechanic took test drive with me and even he noticed that there is some problem. After keeping my car 2 days they said they did not find anything. I ask them to change the steering motor but mechanic said they know better than me. I picked up my car and same problem is there. Locking steering on highway is very dangerous. Please help

Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

22V708000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2022-09-22 (September 22, 2022)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia vehicles. The certification label located on the driver's side B-pillar contains tire size information that may be illegible. Consequence: Illegible tire size information may result in the wrong tires being installed, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the vehicle certification label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 12, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222381690.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Cadillac XT6, GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Blazer, Traverse, and 2022-2023 Cadillac XT5 vehicles. The transmission may have been built with an incorrect sun gear, which can result in the driver-side half-shaft disengaging from the transmission.

Consequence: A half-shaft disengaging from the transmission can result in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the sun gears, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2023. The remedy is expected to become available August 31, 2023. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GMC's number for this recall is N222389310.
